The Balliol society is an unlncorwrated charity reglstered with the Charity Commission under reglstration number 314240.
Balliol soKiel￿$ goyernlng document was adopted ITh January 1926 and amended in October 1952 and September 2021.
Its £harltable object5 are io encourage closer reiatlonships between forffler members of Balliol, keepiw them in touch V￿ttt the College
and publishin8 new5 of Interest Jbout present and past Members of the College.
The Society athieve5 It5 purpose mainly by tnaklng grants to Balliol Colle8e. The Trustees confirm that they have cornplied wirh the duty
in section 1715) of Ihe Charitie5 Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit 4uldance publlshed by Ihe Charlly Cofflffli55ion. The
Trustees have considered this gul¢Jan¢e when reviewlng the 5ociely5 aims and oblective5 and in planning future acliyities ano setting the
grant rnaking policy for the year.

The tru51ees conslder the Board of Trusrees as comprising the key management personnel of tho (harity In charges of dlrÈtlin8 and
trolling the charity and running and opprallng the charily on a day iD day ba515. All Iru5tee$ give their time freely and no Iru5tee
rwnuneration was pald in the year.
Risk mdnagement
The rnajoi risks to which the Charlty could ￿ exposed have been invesiigated by the T￿Stee$ 5yslerns haye been esiablished to
mifigate these rlsks, a review Df t￿se risks will be carried at least annually.

The 5ncone lor the year to 31st July 2023 was E30,473 12022.. £17,528), and the cost of fulfilling the Society's prirnary purpose during the
year was E35,00812022: 118,9011. The 50¢iety has estab15shed Irs grant rnakin4 policy io ach1eve it5 objects for publt benefit. Glants
of £10,30812022: É10.3501 were awarded to Balllol College, Ballioi Musical Soc1eiy and Balliol College Nursery ranging frotn £240 to
E3,000.
Net realised and unrealised 10$5es on itwe5tments were £10,79712022.' L05$ £26.4601. At the year eThJ the aggregate val￿ of the funth
was £408,020 a decrease of £15,332 since 31 July 2022.
The s￿let¥s inyestmenr portfolio is managed by Charles stanley. The Tru5lee5 Wltend thal the real value of the Investment w>rlfotio is
maintalned and enhafKed over the long terrn by investment in a portfolio £ompr15ed of equitie5, fixed Income stocks and cash. The
Trustees ￿11 re8uiarly corslder whelher there Is a need to revlew Its investment PDIicy.
The Trustees consider that the Society has suffldent resources available to conriwe to tneet lis oblectlves of the Society, in partclular to
provide grants to Balllol College.
