affecting pr¢mary schools by holding conferences. Meetings and compelilions at national and local level,,
The principal activities of the company are lo improve standards of leaching by sharing ￿st practice and
training of staff lin¢luding the holding of training seminars for staff) working in independent preparatory and
other schools. publication of subject broadsheets each term, maintenance of the Society's website and the
organising of the General Knowledge Ch811enge, H8ndwriting, Poetry, and oiher evenis involving the pupils.
Fees paid are minimal 8nd a￿ only to cover ¢osts ol such training.
The Trustees have considered the Charity Commissions guidance on public benefit when setting the
objective5 for the year.
The Trustees confimi that they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2011.

information on best pra¢lice directly to its members, delivering the best personal development courses and
commissioning research lo provsde detailert infom)alion on how teaching Can become even better.
Achlevements and performance
For the year ended 31 August 2025 the Charity iemained busy in its core acttvities which were well
received. There were a significant number of training courses that were presented in the fom of Webinars.
These proved lo be popular and attracted a large number of delegales from memb8r schools.
It is anticipated that there will be a further increase in the number of Iraining courses staged in future years.
Broadsheet distribution is both electronic and in magazine form, in response to demand from members.
Financial review
Income from all sources amounted lo £71,775 12024: £95,829) for the year. Expenditure amounted to
£78,572 12024.. £96,697) giving rise to a nel delicil for the year of £6,797 12024.. Deficit of £8681. Cash
balances have remained ￿latIvelY stable at £86,160 12024.. £90,195). Total funds carried forward lor the
year amounled lo £81,808 12024.. £88.6051. The principal funding sources are members. subscriptions.

year.
Reserves policy and going concern
All funds held by the organisation are free from restricb'on and are available for Truste85 to apply to the
chaiitable purposes of Ihe organisalion.
It is the Trustees. aTm to maintain reserves at a reasonable level to ensure the long-leTTn financial security of
Ihe organisalion, which is believed lo be in the region of three months expenditure. Based on the
perfomiance of the year this would equale to £19,643 12024.. £24.174}. The reserves at the year end of
£81,808 {2024.. £88.6051 are in excess of this.
The Board of TTusle8s have considered the health of the balance sheet and the budget for the forthcoming
period in reaching the conclusion that il is appropriate lo prepare the accounts on Ihe going concern basis.

accounts as SATIPS, is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, its Me￿)landU￿ and A￿CleS
of Associatson. and constitutes a limited company, limited by guarantee and as such has no share capiial,
as defined by the Companies Act 2006. The company was incorporated on 24 October 1966 under the
company reoislration number 00890301.
Council of m8mbèrs
The govemin9 body of the company is the Council of Members, who a￿ also its directors and Charity
Trustees. Appointment and ￿m0¥al of direclors is govemed by the Articles of Association and the
Companies Act 2006.

attend a tL)ard meeting to assess whether the individual is the correct Yil, for the charity.
Trustee Induction and training
Following their invitation to join tho board, Tnjstees have meetings with the directors lo induct and train
them into the business activilies of Ihe Charity. Once appointed, Trustees are provi¢Jed with all the
infomation required to assisl tttem in perfomiing thèir ro¢e as a Truslee. This information covers all aspects
of thè oroanisation.
Rlsk management
The Trustees have considered the major risks lo which the Charity is exposed. have reviewed them, an¢Y
consider thal suitable systems are in place to mitigate Ihose risks. Risks that are being fa¢ed by the Charity
are ihose such as Ihe writers of the Broadsheets Ilraining documentation} being volunteers therefore would
cost the Charity rnore money if they were to resign. The Charity would fa￿ the general risk of Course
material being delivered to be kept up to date and therefore relevant lo the public.

income and expenditu￿ for the next 12 n￿nthS from aulh0ri5ing these financial statements. The
budgeted income and exponditure is sutticienl with tho level of reserves for the charity to be able lo
continue as a going concern.
Judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty
The preparation of the financial statements requires management to make judgemenls. eslimales and
assumplions that affect the amounls reported. These estimates and judgements a￿ continually
reviewed and are based on eXperieTr￿ and other factors. including expectations ol future events that
are believed to be reasonable under the circumslances.
The Twstees have considered that there are no critical accounting estimates ￿ critical a￿8$ of

Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditu￿ includes any
VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates.
Charitsble expen¢Jilure comprises those costs in¢urred by Ihe charity in the delivery of its activities

and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
