Incom¢ and Expendlture
The rcyult for the year 2023 was an overAII sutplus of £682k on Ilie Trust's Unrestricted Funds. However on the Tn￿1,8
op¢rational hudget IwhiLh ¢x¢ludes donalcd and unanticipated incumc {¢.8 from insur8nc¢) and expenditure against
designated fijnds, and includc8 gains on inv¢stm¢nty) thor¢ was an operational deficit of £24,511.
Th¢ 2023 budget approvd by Trustee8 was prepared on a br¢Ak-¢v¢n basis, assuming that income from the Trust'$
actxvities would continue to grow and 8¢hiw¢ closer to prelovid-19 pcrfornunce. During the year it bccame apparent
that this was not achi¢vable and the Trustees approved an operational deficit for the year.
Operational income (which exelu&$ voluntary income and an insurance payout) totalled £1,355.322 for the year, £58,125
below initial budgei. However. this was partially offset by a r¢duction in expenditure by £33.614 to £1,379,833 which
was largely achievcd through savings in staff, programme and premises d¢v¢lopm¢nt rosts.

operating environmenL A new strat¢8i¢ plan will impl¢menl a roadmap towards the Tru&l's centenary in 2029.
This strategic review will analysc the TnJ8ts existing finuncial and operation&1 modcl, workin8 Wlth consuliants to
d￿CloP a nvw model that ¢an rcduce and eliminate the current rJpLYatiunul deficit. In addition, organisational systems and
processes will be reviewed to ¢nsurc that ih¢ charity can operate as efficiently and elTe¢tively as possible. This will include
the launch of a n¢w rnanagcment system, integratedwith a new webAitc. which will ¢nabl¢ improvcd custorncr rcl&tionship
management and ortlinc booking.
The appoinlmcnt of a Head of Development in lat¢ 2023 will also givc thc Trust the ability to establish greuter fundraising
