COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on th¢ operations of th¢ Organisation with the closure of the physical buEldings
of both the School and the Training C¢ntre. However. Ét also provided 20 OPPOrtuniry to review the delivery method of
the Tra￿lrng Courses and, with the endorsement of the Association Montessori llltemational¢. Assistants Certificate
Coursts have been delivered online which has resulted in much larger numbers of Students attending than has
previcTru51y been the case. The live-streamed lectures have been attended by students from around the world and have
enabled our Training to reach aT¢a5 of the UK such as Birmingbam. Nlanchester and Bristol, where tht Illstitute h
previously not had a major presellce.
Jn addÈtion to these courses. the Insti￿te has held online workshops for t]Je Montessori in the Ho￿e Series and hosted
th¢ pilot of the first online Amt Montessori for Dem¢nti& and Aging workshop with 47 participants.
Tht ANfi academic year (3-61 Diploma COU￿¢8 continued ollline, and Mudents were able to graduate in June 2020 as
planned. Summer courses have been delivered remotely whtre f£￿ible although graduation dates hav¢ been d¢ferr¢d
foT the 3-6 sutntner course and for some students on th¢ 0-3 Diplorna course.
The School buildinus closed in March and th¢ Children's Houses and the Elementary classes for the per￿itted Year

TetUTTring to work once the %chtsal buildings were pemlitted to reopen. Other staff continued to work from home.
£8L,000 of funding was received.
The financial rep¢r¢ussions have been felt mainly by the School, with a discount on su]nrn¢r teun fees given to all
fatThJlies Jn ihe Children's Houseg and a sEgttificant amount of additional financEaJ 5UPPOrt offered to families whose
own fEnancia] ¢i¥¢umstan¢es had be¢n adversely affected in order to achieve the School's aim of retaining and

The additional revettue gained from the introduction of tlie onlint Cou￿5 and workshops has h¢lped to mitigate the

throughout the year, this has tneant that the olg￿ls8tion has not had to use its reseryes. The Trustees have set aside
£30,000 for the School Bursary Fund for use in future years as they Y¢c(>gnise that there may be fvrther r¢qu¢5ts for
