Promoting Sea Cadet activity. Supporting the maritime industry. Franchisor and primary support for Sea Cadet units ? local groups constituted as separately registered charities.Supporting the maritime industry through the Marine Society, allowing seafarers access to lifelong learning opportunities, a ships? library service, and the provision of financial support for professional advancement.

Objects: 1) To Promote The Development Of Young People In Achieving Their Physical, Intellectual And Social Potential As Individuals And As Responsible Citizens By The Provision Of Education And Leisure Time Activities Using A Nautical Theme; 2) To Advance The Education Of Seafarers In Such Ways As The Council Shall Determine; 3) The Advance Of The Education Of The Public In Maritime Matters; 4) The Promotion Of Scientific Or Other Research Of Particular Benefit To Seafarers And The Publication Of The Useful Results Of Such Research; 5) The Provision In The Interests Of The Social Welfare Of Seafarers Of Facilities For Recreation And Other Leisure-Time Occupation, Being Facilities Which Will Improve Their Conditions Of Life And Of Which They Have Need By Reason Of Their Social And Economic Circumstances; 6) The Relief Of Financial Hardship Among Seafarers And Their Dependants.
