Responsibilities of Trustees
As explained more fully in the slalement of Trustees responsibilities. the Trustees. who are also the direclors of the

satisfied that they give a true and fair view. and for such internal control as the Trustees determine is necessary lo

error. In preparing the financial slalements, the Trustees are responsible for assessing the entity'5 ability lo continue
as a going concern. disclosing, as applicable, mallers related lo going concern and using the going concern basis of
accounting unless the Trustees either intend to liquidate the charitable company or to cease operations, or have no
realistic allernalive but to do so.
Audltor's responslbllltles for thè audlt of the flnanclal statements
We have been appointed as auditor under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 and report in accordance with the
Act and ￿levant regulations made or having effect thereunder.
Our objectives are lo obtsin reasonable assurance about whether the financial slalements as a whole ar& free from
material misslalemenl. whether due lo fraud or error. and to issue an auditor's report that includes our opinion.
Reasonable assurance is a high 18vel of assurance but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance
with ISAS IUKI will always delecl a material misslalemenl when il exists. Misslalements can arise from fraud or
error and are considered material if. individually or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence
the economic decisions of users taken on the basis of these financial slalemenls.
Irregularities, including fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design procedures in
line with our responsibilities. outlined above, lo delecl material rnisslalements in respect of irregularities, including
fraud. The exlenl lo which our procedures are capable of delecling irregularities, including fraud is detailed below..
Our approach to identifying and assessing the risks of material misslalemenl in respect of IrregLtlarilies. including
fraud and non-compliance with laws and regvlalions, was as follows..
the engagement partner ensured that the engagement team collectively had the appropriate
competence,
capabi1Slles and skllls lo Idenllfy or recognlse non<ompllanco wllh appllcablo laws and regulallons.,
we identified the laws and regulations 8pplicable to the limited Ilability partnership through dlscussions
with mèmbèrs and
other management. and from our commercial knowledge and experience of the sector,. and
we focused on specific laws and regulations which we considered may have a direct material effecl on
the
financial statements or the operations of the limited liability partnership, Including Ihe Companies Act
2006, laxalion legislation and data protection, anli-bribery, employrnenl, environmental and health and
safety legislation.

BHARATIYA VIDYA BHAVAN LIMITED
INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S REPORT (CONTINUED)
TO THE TRUSTEES OF BHARATIYA VIDYA BHAVAN LIMITED
We assessed the susceplibilily of the charity's financial statements to material misslatemenl. including oblaining an
LJnderstanding of how fraud might occur, by..
making enquiries of members as to where they considered there was Susceptibility to fraud, their
knowledge of actual, suspected and alleged fraud,. and
considering the internal controls in place lo mitigate risks of fraud and non-compliance wllh laws and
regLJlalions.
To address th& risk of fraud through members bias and ovèrridè of controls, w8.
performed analytical procedures lo id6ntify any unusual or unexp&cl&d r8lalionships,'
lesled journal entries to identify unusual transactions:
assessed whether judgements and assumptions made in determining the accounting eslimales sel
were indicative of potential bias.. and
investigated the rationale behind significant or unusual transactions.
In response to the risk of Irregularities and nonrycompliance with laws and regulallons. we designed procedures
whlch ineluded, but were not limited to..
agreeing financial statement disclosures lo underlying supporting documenlallon.,
rèading th8 minutes of m6elings of those charged with gov8rnan¢e'. and
enquiring of members 89 to actual and polentsal litigation and claims.
There are inherent limitations in the audit procedures described above., any instance of non-compliance with laws
and regulations and fraud which is far removed from transactions reflected in the financial statements would
diminish the likellhood of dele¢lion. Furthermore, the risk of not delecling a material misslalemenl due lo fraud is
greater than the risk of not delecling one resulting from error. Fraud may involve deliberate concealment by, for
example, forgery or intentional misrepresentation. or through an act of collusion that would miligale internal conlrols.
A further description of our responsibilities is available on the Financial Reporting Coun¢ll's website al.. hllps'.11
wvAv.frc.org.uklauditorsresponsibililies. This description forms part of our audilorfs report.
Use of our report
This report is made solely lo the charity's Iruslees, as a body, in accordance with part 4 of the Charities (Accounts
and Reportsl Regulations 2008. Our audit work has been undertaken so that we might slate lo the charity's Iruslees
those matters we are required lo slate lo them in an audilorfs report and for no other purpose. To the fullest exlenl
permilled by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility lo anyone other than the charity and the charity's
