We are pleased to present thelr annual report and flnanclal statements for year ended 31 De￿mber 2025.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objects of the Charity are the payment of slngle and termly grants for educatlonal purposes to Indlviduals
resident in the former parlsh of St Andrew, Holborn (the area of benefltl and to schools Within the area of
benefit,

We ￿rry out perlodlc Internal revlews and where necessary appoint professlonal ad￿sor5 to support the
development and delivery of our strategles. We completed a process to amend the composltlon of the Tnjstee
body to better support the governan￿ arrangements of the Charity towards the end of 2020.
Our main actlvlty durlng the year was support for schoDls and Individuals In the area of benefit.
Plans lor future perlods
The level of support we are able to offer is dictated by Investment markets. However, our plarns for future
per1ods are essentlally the same as those for previous periods: to the best of our ablllty-

En carrying out our work and preparfng thls report, we have had regard to the Charity Commlsslon's publlc
beneflt guldance.
We make grants avallable for chlldren and young people under the age of 25 Ilving wlthin the area of beneflt
whose soclo-economic circumstances mean that they are restrlcted In thelr ablllty fully to beneflt from
educatlonal opportunltles, and to schools wlthin the area of beneflt to support actlvikn'e5 that promote Inclusion
and educauonal development.
We seek through our one-off and termly grants to Impmve Indusion and access to actlvltles for chlldren who
Ilve within the area of beneflt and who mlght otherwise be disadvantaged due to health15sues or lack of famlly
resources.
Our grants to Indlvlduals or organlsatSons aim to enable children to beneflt from school and other artivlties and
excLJrslons that help to develop them beyond the school cuthculum. They alm to support chlldren In thelr
development as active and engaged members of their communlty and soclety more widely.
We also make grants to asslst wlth the purchase of school Ltnllorms so that d)ildren are not made to feel
different because of thelr famlly cIrcumStan￿$.

Revlew of 2025
At the beginnlng of 2024, we held substantlal cash reserves. We entered Into dlscus51ons wlth the three
prlmary schools In our area of benefit and agreed that we would use the cash reserves to fund for three
years the appointment of a therapeutic counsellor to WDrk In all three Schools. The new counsellor stsrted
work at the beglnnlng of 2025. The post has proved to be somewhat more expensive than we antlclpated. I
order to be able to meet our commitment to fund this post for the full three years, we shall, therefore, need
to Idents'fy alternatlve sour￿9 to supplement the sum we agreed in 2024.
Throughout 2025 we continued to work closely wlth our slster charlty, St Andrew Holborn and Stafford's Charlty
to support chlldren and famllles Ilvlng withln 0￿r area of benefit. We awarded grants totalllng £94,905 {2024',
£44,452). Of this, we awarded £7,695 {2024.' £9,575) In grants to Individuals and £87,210 {2024'. £34,877) to
organlsatlons,
In 2025, 1 I chlldren from 9 famllles recelved termly grants. Almost all the famllies are carlng for a disabled
chlld
wlth, for example, Downs Syndrome, autism or cerebral palsy. The amount of a termly grant varies
dependlng on the age of the chlld and the severlty of any dlsablllly. We revlew the amount of fur¢ding annually
and It stops when the young person has reached the age of 18 or if the famlly moves Out of area. At this stage,
wherever possible and Sf approprlate, we give aSsIstan￿ to f&mllles to source alternative financlal support.
Alongslde the termly grants, we provided school uniform grants to a famlly wlth three prlmary-aged children,
We also made an indlvldual grant to help a teenager at rlsk of excluslon attend a weekend vocatlonal trainlng
course. The alm of thls support was to help encourage a sense of self-worth.
We contlnued to support organi5atior7s whlch beneflt Indivlduals In our area of beneflt. A list of the organlsatlons
we supported In 2025 15 Included at note 5 to the flnanclal statsrllents.
We would Ilke to place on record our thanks for the contlnulng sUPPOrt of the Barristers at 3 Verulam Bulldlngs,
who wish through a generous annual donation to SUPfM)rt actlvlYe5 in the area especlally for educatlon,
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Results for the Year
Net income of £5,681 was recorded during the year whlch includes gains on investments of £54,746 resulting
in the Balance Sheet resources Increasing from £2,220,359 to £2,226,040.
Investments
At the end of the year, Income from Investments and bank Interest fell to £60,01112024,, £64,931).
Reserves
At 31st De￿mber 2025 the funds of the Charlty amounted tD £2,226,040, of whlch £1,965,391 represented
the permanent endowment. Unrestrlcted funds were £259,649, of whlch £57,816 has been deSIgnat￿ for
three-year funding of the therapeutyc counsellor In the three prlmary schools in our area of benefit.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Trustee body conslsts of 3 ex offlclo Trustees and four co-opted Trustees. Following a per￿0d where there
were vacancles, the Trustee body Is now fully constltuted.
The Trustees met on three occaslons durlng the year. In addltion, the FInan￿ & Investment Commlttee, whlch
Is delegated to revlew financlal and investment matters, met tw1￿.
Pollcy is set by the TrLF5tees. Reswnslbllity for operauonal dellvery Is delegated to the aerk to the Trustees,
New co-opted Trustees are agreed by the full Trustee body. All new Trustees are mentored by an existing
Trustee and are provided wlth a trustee flle, whlch includes a copy of the governlng document, a copy of the
latest annual accounts and a copy of CC3 The Essenbai fru5free publlshed by the Charfty Commlssion. Trustees
have the oppr)rtunlty to attend meetlngs and appolntments with the Grants offl￿r. Trustees also have the
opportunlty to attend trustee trainlng.
The Trustees are grateful to Anna Paterson, the Grants Officer, for her contqnued hard work In support of the
Charlty.
Rl$k management
The Trustees have given conslderatlon to the major rlsks to whlch the Charlty is exposed and satlsfled
themselves that systems and prO￿dureS art established to manage those rlsks, Rlsks are revlewed annually.
The Trustees have recognised the slgnlflcant risk to the Grants Officer when visltlng reclplents of the Charity's
grarits and the measures that are In place to manage that rfsk.
The Trustee5 are aware of the rtsk In respect of the volatlllty of Investment Income restrictlng their abillty to
allevlate need In the area of beneflt. The Finan￿ and Investment Committee formally meets the Investment
Managers I￿1￿ a year. The Charlty has adopted a balan￿d investment strategy wlth a medlum rlsk toleran￿.
Investment policy
The Trustees, Investments are managed on a total return basls wlth a medlum rlsk tolerance and due regard
to dlverslflcation wlth the objertlve that a comi￿natIon of Income and capltal growth will support the ongoing
artlvitles of the Charlty whilst malntalnlng the real capltal value of the Investments over the longer term. The
Trustees are aware of the rlsk In respect of volatility of investments returns to meet the annual commitments
of the Charlty. The ￿nance & Investment Commlttee formally meets the Investment managers ￿￿ce a year.
The Charlty Is committed to responslble Investment and takes Into account en￿ronMental, social and
governantr issues. Our exposurt to investments in assets limlted under guldellnes Issued by the Church of
England's Ethlcal Ir¢vestment Advlsory Group Is monltored r￿Ularty by the ￿nance & Investsnent Committee in
discussion with our investment managers.
Sarasln & Partners LLP manage the bulk of our Investments, whlch form part of the Sarasln Endowments Fund
Class A Inc. Reportlng15 quarterly and the overall Investment portfolio is reviewed ￿[ce a year by the Finan
& Investment Committee. The Charlty also holds a small investrnent In the Property Investment Trust for
charl￿eS (PITCHI managed by Nayfalr Capital Investment Management Lt(S (now part of Swlss Ufe Asset
Managers UK Ltd).
Reserves pollcy
The Trustees have recognlsed thelr risk reglster the potentlal for loss of Income arlslng from volatlllty In
Investment markets. They therefore malntaln a level of reserves suffldent to meet expected future
commitments, ￿ether wlth an element of contlngency provislon against any slgniflcant, unforeseen need.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
(a) Bas1$ of Accountlng
The Accounts have been prepa￿d under the hlstorlcal cost convention as modlfled by the revaluatlon
of Snvestments at market value and accordance wlth applicable Accountlng Standards. They have
been prepared Sn accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (Accountlng and
Reportlng by Charltles) preparlng their accounts In accordance with the Financtal Reportlng Standard
appllcable In the UK and Republlc of Ireland (FRS 102) Second Editlon Issued In October 2019, the
Flnanclal Reportlng Standard appllcable In the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102 March 2018) arKS
the Charities Act 2011. The Charity constitutes a public benefit entlty as defined by FRS 102.
The accounts have been prepared to glve a'true and falrf view and have departed from the Charlties
(Accounts and Reports) Regulatlons 2008 only to the extent requlred to provide a'true ènd falr vlew,.
Thls departure Involved following Accounting and Reportlng by CharitSe5 preparlng thelr accounts in
accordance wlth the Financlal Reportlng Standard applicable in the UK and Republlc of lrtland
(FRS102) rather than the Accountiro and ReporNng by Charlties Statement of Recommended Practlce
effectlve from l April 2005 whlch has since been wlthdrawn.
The Trustees consider that there are no un￿rtaIntieS about the Charfty's ablllty to contlnue as a
golng COn￿rn.
The functlonal and pre5entatlonal currency of the Charity Is the £ Sterllng.

Income
Income Is recognlsed In the year once the charity has entitlement to the Income, It Is probable that
the incorlle wlll be re￿IVed and the amount of Income receivable can be measured relSably. Income
Is deferred only when the Charlty ha5 to fLJIflI condltlons before becomlng entitled to it or the donor
has speofied that the income has to be spent in a future perlod.
Donations are recognlsed when the Charlty recelves the Income. Investment Income is recognlse
on the date on whlch the dlvidend Is paydble or the Interest arlses.

Resources Expended
Liablllties are recognised as expendlture as soon as there Is a legal or construrtlve obllgatlon
committing the Charity to that expenditure, it is probable that sethement wlll be required and the
amount of the obllgatlon can be measured rellably. All expendlture Is accounted for on an accruals
bas15.
Costs of Ralslng Funds
The c95t of raising funds conslsts of Investment management fees as well as an allocatlon of
support costs.
Charltsble Actlvttles
Q)sts of Charltable Activlties include grants to indlvidua15 ond organlsatfons and dlrect costs
assoclated with grant-maklng as well as an allocation of support costs.

Support Costs have been allocated between activlties on the basls of staff tlme and include

Grants payable are (harged In the year In whlch the"offer Is conveyed to the reclpfent eX￿pt In those
cases where the offer Is condltional, such grants beiw recI￿nised as expendlture when the condition5
attachlng are fulfllled.

Fund Accounting
Unrestrlcted Funds..
The unrestricted funds may be used by the Charity In furtheran￿ of charltable objettlves
at the dlsuetlon of the Trustees.
Endowment Funds..
Permanent endowment funds are restrlcted capital funds where there 15 no power to convert
the orlginal capital to income. Income from the endowment fund Is unrestricted.

Restrlcted Funds are funds whlch are to be used In acco￿an￿ wlth spedftc restrlttlons
Smposed by donors or whlch have been raised by the charity for particular purposes. The alm
and use of each restricted fund Is set out In the notss to the flnanclal statements.

Value Added Tax
The Charfty is not ￿lStered for VAT and accordlngly where appllcable, all expendlture incurred Is
Inclusive of VAT.

Investments
The Charlty's Investments are a form of basic flnandal instrument and are Initially recognised at
their transaction value and subsequently measured at thelr falr value as at the balance sheet date
uslng the closlng quoted market pr1￿. The statement of financial activitles Includes the net galns
and losse5 arfsing on the revaluations and dlsposals throLNJhout the year.
Reallsed galns and losses on Investments are arrlved at by comparlng the net sale pra￿edS with
the market value at the end of the previous financial year. Unrealised gain5 and losses represent
the difference between the market value of Investments still held at the end of the flnandal year
wlth thelr value at the beglnnlng of the year or wlth thelr cost If purchased subsequently,

Trade and other debtors a￿ recognlsed at the settlement amount due after any trade discount
offered. Prepayments are valued at the amount prepald net of any trade d5scounts due.
(h) Cash at Bank
Cash at bank Is deflned as cash and short term hlghly Ilquld investments wlth a short maturlty of
three months or less from the date of acqulsltion or opening of the deposit or slmllar account.
Credltors and provlslons
Credltors and provisions are recognlsed where the charlty has a present obligation resulting from a
past event that wlll probably result in the transfer of funds to a thlrd party and the amount due to
settle the obllgatlon can be measured or estlmated rellably. Creditors and provisions are rwrmally
recognised at thelr settlement amDunt after allowing for any trade discouiits due.

The Chartty's employees have jolnt contracts of employment wlth the 4 slster charities at St Andrew Holbom
and wlth St Andrew Holborn Tradlng Ltd, Together they employed an average of 5 (2024.. 5) staff during
the year, one of whom recelved employee beneflts of £70,000 £80,000 (2024: one, E60,000 ~ £70,000).
Employment Costs are shared on a time spent basls.
