This has been another successful yeaf lor Parkside School,. during rhe conrinuarion of the effe£rs of
COVID-L9 pandemic. The fc<uswa5 very much on ensur1￿ the khool continued to offeran emcellent
edutation. manage the pupils, and sraff s wellbeiThg- whilst mènaBing the iisk of a potential hnantial
105s due to falling pupil numbers. There was a re31 thFeai of parenis unable to relocate out of London
or reassessing their yrsonal finances and movin&their childrèn to loral State schools. Whilst this has
affected Park51de to a Small degree. pupil numbers have continued to build and are showing a 2%
inirease on last year.

The remoie learning systems remained and were luriher enharrfed increased opportunities for

The new Parents of Park5ide IPOPI group has been 5ucce55ful and includes parents from all year
group5 throughoutthe School. fvndrèisineevents had to betancelled dueto COVID restrictions.
bui all plans were rescheduled lor rhe following academic year.
A new Outdoor Classroom was builtwirh supportfrom parentsand a 5econdScience Lab. part funded
by the POP, and a Vegetable/Kitchen gartlen were all created ready for Sepiember 2021.

Academic
Frgm the moment that the second Llxkdown was annourKEd in january 2021. Parkside had already
implemented a strategy to ensure lessons continue throughout Ihe Covid crisis. New
timerables were produced loi ihe whole school io follow. Edmodo wa5 used 35 a cornmunication
platform between pupil and teather and Zoom was introduced to strèam live le55QnS thToughout a
full teacfvnE day. A weekly drNe through wa5 implemented. where parents would pick up resources
and marked work from the previous week and be given physical work and resources for the week
ahead. io supplement and support the online ￿550n5. Form titnes. parent coffee momings, parent
eveThings and social groups were all initiated to support rhe Parkside communrty and welfare of the
pupils. Planned Walk and Talk, sÈssions were set up to allow 50cialty distancedand COVID safe walks
for pupi15 to engège in social interaction chosen peers.
During the Lockdown period5, Parkside continued ro thfwe and bullion the proVis￿n already offered.
The Head set expe¢taiions to eftsure the whole curriC￿￿M was delivered to the pupils, whilst
ensurin8 there was dedit3ted time for pvpils to engoge pastorally socially with their peers and
teachers House competitions. a55e55rnents, Form times all continued to ensure school felt normal
for rhe pupils. wherever practicably ppssible. Wellbein8 walks were intfoduced to encourage
conversation. socièl interaction and good mind space f￿ the whole of Parkside community. Parkside
received overwhelrning praise from the parents for rhe educational provision and care in managing
the pupils, wellbeing_
The Year 8's worked hard towards and sat their Common Entrance exarns with 11))% pa5$ rate. All
boy5 received a place into their Sen1￿ School with Scholarships awarded from Tonbridge 11 x

The Governors re¢ognise ihe pressure on parents tts afford school fees and in order to avoid
increasing the lee5 to co¥er the c05t of bvrsaries, rhe School has continued its Commercial activities
ro raise fLtnd5 to olfset extra costs. The Governor5 also decided not to increase the school fees fL¥

Whilst the priority lor Parkside sch￿ has ￿waYS been the wwsiort of a quality education for its
pupi15. the GDvernors and staff also believe in the irnportance ol being oulward looking and in
providing access to Parkside School to those who cannot afford the fees. Any bursary agreed will
potentially operate lor the entire peri(Kl a boy is a pupil at Parkside School. We wll consult rhe
parents each year to reassess thEir financial poytion. This ensures fund5 are directed where need is

and held ès restricted funds. Parents can continue to donate to the School's hardship ftsnd through
an opt-in process on their fee inwxces.
Charity Givi
In line with our PSHEE curriculurn. which, Cou￿edWIth British Valtses, the school Coniinues to educate
the children of those who are in need throughout the UK and abroad. The children of Parksid
