The charity’s objects and policy has been the granting of bursaries to students entering further education for the term of the course undertaken, and one-off grants for tools and other equipment to those starting apprenticeships or work training on the job. The area covered is the ancient parishes of Elm, Emneth and Friday Bridge with Coldham. The net income is divided in accordance with the objects of the Fund. The trustees have regard to the charity Commissions guidance on public benefit when making charitable grants in accordance with the objects.
