The Trustees present their annual report together wlh the financial slalemenls of the Company for the 1
September 2024 to 31 August 2025. The Annual report seNes the purposes of both a Trustees, report and a
directors. report under company law. The Trustees confimi that the Annual report and financial slalemenls of
the charitable company comply with the current slatulory requirements, the requirements of the charitable
company's goveming document and the provisions of the Slalemenl of Recommended Practice ISORPI
applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable
in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 leffeclive 1 January 20191.

Charitable aims and objectives
The Charity's objects are the advan￿ment of education, and for that purpose, to establish. maintain and carry
on on colleges, schools, kindergartens, seminars and educational inslitulions.
In setting objectives and planning for aclivilies, the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance
published by the Charity Commission relating to public benefit, including the guidance'Public benefit.. running a
charity IPB21'.
Prlnclpal actlvlty
The Charity's primary purpose is to manage funds which wll be used to provide bursarieslscholarships and to
olhemse support Saint Felix School.
Achievements and performance
Review of activities
Previously the Charity operated Saint Felix School. On 4 May 2021, in order lo safeguard the future of Saint
Felix School and to enable the SchcK)I lo continue with its development plans lo enhance the education
provision and facilities at Saint Felix, the SchcK)I was transferred lo Inspired Learning Group IILGI. This
enabled the School to continue lo provide the best possible education and opportunities for students and staff.
Following the resolution of some mallers arising from the transfer of the School, it is the intention of the
Iruslees to dissolve the charity and lo pass the remaining funds to another charity wth compatible purposes.
The Trustees are taking advice and the steps lo achieve this.

The Statement of financial Activities shows a net surplus for 2025 of £90,990 12024.. £5,935}. The increase is
due to the release of the Diana Russell fund liability.

Reserves policy and going concern
The Charity's general reSe￿e at 31 August 2025 is £25,041 12024.. £30,051) and the restricted reseNe is

The Trustees, policy is to relain minimum general reserves of £25,000. The reserves held at the year end are
in-line with the reserves policy, and are sufficient for the Charity's normal operations.

Constitution
The Southwold and Reydon Educational Trust Limited is registered as 8 charitable company limited by
guarantee. The Charity was founded in 1897, and is registered with the Charity Commission under Charity
number 310482, and with Companies House with company registration number 00316883. The Charity is
governed by its Trust Deed dating from 1897 and the Articles of Assoaation dated December 2011.
The management of the Charity is the reswnsibility of the Trustees who are elected and co-opted under the
terms of the Constitution.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2025
The Trustees (who are also the directors of the Company for the purposes of company lawl are responsible for
preparing the Trustees, report and the financial slalements in accordance with applicable law and United
Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Praclicel.
Company law requires the Trustees lo prepare financial statements for each financial . Under company law, the
Trustees musl not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view
of the stale of affairs of the Company and of its incoming reSoUr￿S and application of resources, including ils
income and expenditure, for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required lo..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.,
observe the meth(As and principles of the Charities SORP IFRS 1021.,
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent.,
state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards IFRS 1021 have been followed, subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements,.

accounts carried out under section 145 of Ihe Charities Act 2011 I'lhe 2011 Ad'l. In carrying out my
examination I have followed Ihe Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5llb} of the
2011 Act.

Disclosure section
Going concam: I draw your attention to the trustees. report and note 2.2 which stale that the trustees have
decided to wind up the charity and transfer the remaining funds lo another charity with compatible purposes. As
a result the financial statements are prepared on a basis other than going con￿rn.
Contingent liability: as disclosed in note 11, in De￿mber 2025, the charity received a contractual claim
tolalling approximately £32,500. The trustees have carefully reviewed the basis of the claim and do not
consider that any liability arises. The daim has been formally disputed and, as at the date of approval of these
financial statements, no further communication has been received. Accordingly, no provision has been
recognised in these financial slalements.

General information
The Charity is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in the United Kingdom. The members of the
Charity are the Trustees named on page 1. In the event of the Charity being wound up, the liability in
respect of the guarantee is limited to £1 per member of the company.
Accounting policios
2.1 Basis of preparation of financial statements
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wlh the Charities SORP IFRS 1021
Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance wth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffective 1 January 20191, the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102} and the Companies Act 2006.
The Southwold and Reydon Educational Trust Limited meets the definition of a public benefit entity
under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value
unless otherwise staled in the relevant accounting policy.
2.2 Golng concern
As described in the Trustees, Report, the trustees have decided to wnd up the charity and transfer
the remaining funds lo another charity wlh compatible purposes. As a result the financial
statements are prepared on a ba51S Other than going concern. which includes, where appropriate
writing down the assets lo the net realisable value, and recognising any conlraetual commitments
that have become onerous at the balance sheet date. No material adjustments arose as a result of
ceasing to apply the going concern.
2.3 Income
All income is recognised once the Company has entillemenl to the income, il is probable that the
income wll be received 8nd the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.

2.4 Expendituro
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic
benefit to a third party, il is probable that a transfer of economic benefits wll be required in
settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by
aclivily. The costs of each activity are made up of the lolal of direct costs and shared costs,
including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to a single
activity are allocated directly to that activity- Shared costs which contribute lo more than one activity
and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are apportioned between those
activities on a basis consistent with the use of resOUr￿s. Central staff costs are allocated on the
basis of lime spent, and depreciation charges allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
Expenditure on charitable aclivilies is incurred on directly undertaking the activilies which further the
Company's objectives, as well as any associaled support costs.
All expenditure is inclusive of irrecoverable VAT.
2.5 Intgrest recoivable
Interest on funds held on deposit is included Mthen receivable and the amount can be measured
reliably by the Company., this is normally upon notification of the interest paid or payable by the
institution with whom the funds are deposited.
2.6 Cash at bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short-temi highly liquid investments with a short
maturity of three months or less from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar
auount.
2.7 Liabilities and provisions
Liabilities are reCogni￿d when there is an obligation at the Balan￿ sheet dale as a result of a past
event, it is probable that a transfer of ewnomic benefit will be required in settlement, and the
amount of the settlement can be estimated reliably.
Liabilities are recognised at the amount that the Company anticipates it wll pay to settle the debt or
the amount it has received as advanced payments for the goods or ServI￿S it must provide.
2.8 Financial instrumgnts
The Company only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic
financial instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and
subsequenlly measured al their settlement value with the exception of bank loans which are
subsequenlly measured at amortised cost using the effective interest meth(￿.

2.9 Fund accounting
General funds are unreslricled funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in
furtherance of the general obJ"eclives of the Company and which have not been designated for other
purposes.
Restricted funds a￿ funds which are to be used in accordance wlh specific restrictions imposed by
donors or which have been raised by the Company for particular purposes. The costs of raising and
administering such funds are charged against the specific fund. The aim and use of each restricted
fund is set out in the notes to the financial statements.
Investment income, gains and losses are allocated to the appropriate fund.

The Diana Russell Fund is principally lo supwtt gifted children lo study design and technology at Saint
Felix School. In the prior period, due to a concern that the funds may need lo be retumed to the funder,
the income was held as a liability. The trustees assessment of this risk has changed. As a consequence,
