- relationship with any related parties;

- trustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them.

The PTA is formed by parents/guardians, teachers and ancillary staff from the Primary School and works closely with the school and the head teacher to ensure that all funds raised are spent appropriately.

The charity is a member of PTA UK

The charity holds regular committee meetings and sub committees are often formed to work on specific fundraising events.

## **Section C Objectives and activities**

## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

- We foster extended relationships between staff, pupils and parents

- We engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils

- We provide and assist in the provision of facilities or items for education at the school which are not provided from statutory funds.

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

The PTA host a number of events such as the Summer and Christmas Fetes which are aimed at enhancing existing pupil/family relations within the school as well as encouraging other local residents to participate/attend.

We hold several events through the year which are aimed solely at the parents and the local village community and this is usually done in the form of Quiz nights which are very successful.

The PTA also hosted 2 school disco’s open to each year group and a film night.

As of March 2020 all of our usual fundraising activities were curtailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and so none of our usual events took place.

## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

Unfortunately from March 2020 we have been under Covid-19 restrictions and so all of our fundraising has come via non contact events such as the school lottery, raffles, Christmas tree sales and trails and hunts done around the village in school holidays.

Our lottery has raised £2867.10 and we opened a JustGiving fundraising page to raise money for an outdoor covered area and this has received donations of £8412.02 to date.

The sale of Christmas trees was also very successful raising £3908.90

**Responsibilities and basis of report**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Sonning Common Primary School Association for the year ended 31/08/2021

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
