Activities
A sum up to 25% of annual income may be dispensed for the general purposes of the school. The residual income is to provide awards of scholarships, exhibitions & financial assistance to beneficiaries who are persons of either sex under the age of 25 years and who are, or at any time have been, in attendance at the school and who, in the opinion of the trustees, are in need of financial assistance.
Objects: 1. General Purposes Of The Royal Merchant Navy School 2. Awarding Exhibitions Tenable At The School Or Any Secondary School, Teacher Training College, University, Or Other Institution Of Further (including Professional Or Technical) Education Approved By The Governors. 3. Providing Financial Or Other Assistance To Help Beneficiaries At The School Or On Leaving School, University, Or Other Educational Establishment, To Prepare For Or To Enter A Profession, Trade Or Calling. 4. Awarding Scholarships Or Maintenance Allowances To Enable Beneficiaries To Travel Abroad To Pursue Their Education. 5. Providing Financial Assistance To Enable Beneficiaries To Study Music Or Other Arts. 6. Awarding Prizes To, Or Otherwise Promoting The Education (including Social And Physical Training) Of Beneficiaries. Note "beneficiaries: Mean Persons Of Either Sex Who Have Not Attained The Age Of 25 Years Who Are, Or At Any Time Have Been In Attendance At The Royal Merchant Navy School And Who Are In Need Of Financial Assistance.
