present their annual report together with the financial slalements and the independent
examinerfs report of the Charity for the year to 31 August 2020.
The financial slalements have been prepared in 8¢cordance with the accounting policies sel
out on page 8 of the attachod financial statements and are presented on a receipts and
payments basis.
STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Constitution
The charity is constituted by a Trust Deed dated 8 March 1989 to advance the education of
the pupils of Langley Park School for Boys by providing or assisting in the provision of
educational, recreational and other charitable facilities not nomially provided bythe Education
Skills Funding Agency. The charity was registere(f with the Charity Commission on 4
December 1962 (Charity Number 307802).
The twstees are responsible for taking all strdlegic and investment decisions and for
monitoring the implementation thereof.
In setting the charilYs objectives, the trustees have given careful consideration to the Chartty
Commission's general guidance on PLsblic benefrt. The trustees are satisfied that the charitys
activities have been for the public benefit.

The charity re￿iVeS donations from the parents of pupils al the School together with income
in respect of the following memorial funds invested in Charities Offici81 Investment Fund
Incomg Units..
• The Beckenham Secondary School Old Bo¥s War Memorial Fund
• The John Pear￿ Memorial Fund
In the year. the charf(y made no cash transfers {2019.' £42,935) to the Langley Park School
for Boys to support the pupils in extracurriwlar activities, prize giving and towards running the
minibuses which are used fortsking the pupils to Sports fixtures, trips etc. The activities which
the charity fundraising supports were significantly impacted by the Coronaviws pandemic with
many activities postponed or (ancelled.
The reserves and memorial fvnds are shown in the attached financial ststemenls.
The attached Statement of assets and liabilities shows the current state of the finances which
the trustees consider to be sound. Balances of £72,875 {2019.. £10,305) have been
accumulated al 31 August 2020.

The law applicable lo Charities in England and Wales required the trustees to prapare financial
ststements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the
charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that
period. In preparing those finanaal statements. the trustees are required lo..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with
reasonable accurdcy at any lime the financial position of the chaTtty and to enable them to
ensure Ihatthe financial ststements complywith the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts
and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions ofthe Trust Deed. They're also responsible
for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the
prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The financial statements are prepared on a receipts and payments b8SIS.
Rasorvas policy
The trustees. pollcy Is to retain funds to meet fLrture activities of the charity with any 8x¢e$s
funds remitted to lh8 School. The funds al 31 August 2020 were in excess of this level, as
funds raised during the year had not yet been transferred lo the School.

Responsibilitles and basis of the report
As the charitls trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordan￿ with the requirements of the Charities A￿ 2011 {Ihe A¢f).
I report in respect of my examinatlon of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145
of the 2011 AGI and in Carrying out my examination. I have followed all the applicable
Directions given by the Charty Comrnission under section 145{5llbl of the Ad.

uncertainty in the preparation of the accounts are laid out below.
Basis of preparatlon
These accounts have been prepared for the year tr) 31 Aug¥Jst 2020 with comparative
information given in respect to the year to 31 August 2019.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical Cost convention swth items
recognised at cost OT transaction value unless othen￿lSe slated in the relevant accounting
policies below or the notes to these accounts.
The charity constitutes a public benefft entf(y as defined by FRS 102.
The accounts are presented in steding and are rounded to the nearest pound.
Basis of accounting
The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis.
Value Added Taxation
VAT on expenditure incurred by the charity is irrecoverable. Expenditure is therefore stated
in these financial statements inclusive of VAT, where applicable.
