Bursar. Specialist sub-committeès, including the Finance & General Purposes Committee

Remurieration Commsttee, established in 2021, meets at least twice annually to make
recommendations to the Finance Committee.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
General Revlew
The School's principal income is derived from tuttlon fees, svpplemtnted by income from
letting facilities and from the non-charitable trading subsidiary BA (Enterprises) Ltd, whith
mana8Ès wéddlng and even hires. Governors approved a 3% lee increase for 2025-26 and a
3% staff pay rise.

Reserves Po¥cy
Reserves have been used in recent years to maintaln and improve the School's freehold an
le35ehold propErtle5 and to seNlce mortgage commitments. The Chariws reserves
lexduding restritted funds) largely represent fixed assets held for charitable use.
The strateglc objectfve to create an uncommitted reserve of £2 milllon was achieved in
August 2022. The school tompleted on its 5in8le s￿* for boardin& Leeford Lod8e and
embarked on a stainable refurbishrnent In time for first use In September 2025- a lon8-term
ambitlon for the school to Ènhance boarding and allow the day school greater flexibilty in
the Abbey buildings.

22 PENSION COMMITMENTS
The Sch¢xJl participate5 in the Teachers, Perbsion Scheme l-the TPS-I for its teaching staff. The pension
chargè ftsr the year includes contributions payable to the TPS of £644,2SS12024.. £581,153) and * the
year-end £nil12024- £nill was accrued In respe￿ of tontributionslo thSs scheme.
The TPS is an unfunded multi*mployer defined beneffts pension scheme governed by The Teachers,
Pensions Regulations 2010 las amended) and The Teachers, Pènsion S(heme Regulations 2014 la5
amendedl. Members contribLrte on a.pay as you go" basi5wfth contributions from member5 and the
employÈr bein£ credlted to the Exchequer. Retirement and other penslon benefits are paid by publlc
funds provided by Parllament.
The employercontrlbution rate is set bythe Secretary of State following scheme vèluatiofbs undertaken
by thè Government Actuar￿$ Department. The most recent attuarial valuation of the TPS was prepared
as at 31 March 2020 and ihe Valuation Report W35 published In October 2023. The Valuation Report
show5 notional assets of £222.2bn and liabilities of E262bn, resulting in a scheme deflcit of £39.8bn.
The Èmpl¢)yercontribution rate for the TPS Is 28.6%, and employers are also requlred to pay a scheme
adminlstration levy of 0.08% giving a total employer contribution rate of 28.68%.

The school has taken advantage of the ex*mption. under the texms of Financial Reporting
Standard 102 'The FSnèncial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland,, not
to disclose related party transactions with wholly owned subsidiarles within the group. The school
has also taken advantage of the exemptions under the Charitiès, Staternent of Recommended
Practice ISORP IFRS 10211 not to disclose sery1￿5 provided on a voluntary basis by governor
contracts of employment between the school and its employees, and the repayment of out.of-
pocket expenses where the 8ovemor5 have acted as agent for the school.
DuTingthe year the school contracted Atelier De Linde Ltd. a company of which Mrs Tl Gallagher
Is a dlre¢tor. to undertake architectural work. The total cost of works performed during the year
