REPORT The Trustees present their annual report and financial statements for English Schools, Cricket Association (the charity) for the year ended 31 March 2025. As the charity's annual income 15 less than the threshold for which an audit of the financial slatements 15 required. the Trustees have prepared a receipts and payments account togetherwith a statement of assets and liabilities which have been subject to an independent examination. FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 The charity also carries out activities under the name ESCA. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT CONSTITUTION English Schools, Cricket Association is an unincorporated association registered as a charity, number 306002. The Association is governed by its Officers and a Council in accordance with its constitution which has been approved by the Charity Commissioners. The cl￿nCil consists of members per affiliated Associatlon, belng properly constituted Schoo18' County Crickel Associations or County Cricket Boards where no County Association exists. The day to day management of the Association is vested in an Executive Committee. METHOD OF APPOINTMENT OR ELECTION OF TRUSTEES All the Trustees are re-elected annually. The Vice-chair is also elected annually. New Trustees will be introduced to their Roles and Responsibilities by the General Secretary, the Treasurer and the Chairman of Finance. RISK MANAGEMENT The Trustees have continued to review the major risks that the Charity faces and are considering various ways to mitigate these. Certain steps and procedures are being undertaken to reduce these risks. These procedures include actively seeking donations and sponsorship and attempting to increase the number of new volunteers. ESCA has continued to actively seek new sponsors. It has not been easy but, by registering for Gift Aid, ESCA has found other channels of income. These policies should ensure the continued existence of the Charity in nomial circumstances. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT Objectives are set to reflect the educational aims for the development of pupils and the ethos of theAssociation. In setting out the objectives and planning specific activities of the Charity, the Trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission's gubdance on public benefit. The main Aims of the Association are the mental, moral and physical development of pupils through the medium of cricket, and the improvement af the standard of all pupils involved in cricket throughout the country.

CRICKET ASSOCIATION The Association is committed to safeguarding and promoting the moral and physical welfare of pupils and expects all its volunteers, who are principally, but not wholly, qualified or retired teachers in both the state and the private sectors, to share this commitment. The Association welcomes pupils from all backgrounds, the main criteria for selection being an interest in cricket and potential which can be developed. ACTIVITIES FOR ACHIEVING THE AIMS ESCA'S slrategy includes the promotion and organization of National Schools Competitions at Under 11, Under 12. Under 13, Under 14 and Under 15 age groups. TheTrustees intend that this should always be part of our Aims. Ourflexible monetary policy has 8nsured this. In 2024, the final of the Under 15 Cup was contested betmeen Scarborough College and Millfield School at Oakham School. Scarborough College won by 68 runs. The David English Under 13 Cup final featured King's School Taunton vs Epsom College. Epsom College won a closely contested match by three wickets. The Under 11 hardball final was contested between Twyford School and Feltonfleet School with Feltonfleel winning by 6 runs. The finals of the ESCAJECB T20 competition were held at Arundel in September 2024. The semi-finals were contested between Scarborough College and Shrewsbury School and between Harrow School and King's College Taunton. In the final, Harrow School defeated Scarborough College by 59 runs. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE The agreed services are.. A) To continue to provide the organisation, expertise and personnel to deliver Inter Schools competitions at Town, District, County, Regional and National levels. To endeavour to provide the organisation, expertise and personnel to deliver the National Under 15 Twenty120 Competition working with the ECB, sponsors and other relevant agencies. The agreed performance indicators are.. 11 The successful delivery, on time, of every competition or final organised by ESCA on behalf of or in conjunction with the ECB. B) 2) The seNices provided are delivered within agreed budgets. 3) The competitions maintain their Gurrent levels of entry, with agreed strategies in place to Inc￿aSe participation. 4) That all competitions continue to be fit for purpose and follow the principles within the ECB competition framework. The agreed servlces were all successfully achieved and the agreed performance indicators were successfully met in 202415. RESERVES POLICY The Trustees recognise that reserves need to be monltor8d in order for the Association to maintain its financial stability and be able to conduct it5 day-to-day affairs and cricket programmes successfully. It is incumbent on the Association that every endeavour is made to retsin the current lev81 of sponsorship and increase it where possible.

REPORT {continued) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS ESCA'S plans the future include the planning and delivery of a full programme for Summer 2025. This will include a national Under 15 T20 Cup supported by the ECB, the Under 15 National Cup, the David English Under 12 and Under 13 National competitions and the Under 11 Hardball competition. FINANCIAL REVIEW The charity receiNed a grant from the ECB to enable it to run the U15 T20 County Competition in 202412025 however it did not receive any othergrants or sponsorship in the year so the U11 hardball competition. the David English U13 National Cup competition andthe U15 One Day Cup competition were funded out of restricted funds of the charity and this contributed to a reduction in the restricted funds amounting to £12,070.10 during the year. The charity also paid out governance, admini8tration and other sUPPOrt costs tolalling £20,676.26 in the year. Affiliationfees paid bythe County Cricket Boards or Schools CricketAssociations together with donations received and bank interest, helped reduce the deficit on the unrestricted funds for the year to £1869.87. For many years, the Trustees have implemented a policy of funding existing programmes, especially where no external sponsorship or funding is available, and set up various Designated Funds to support these activities financially. As a result, the defiGIt in unrestricted funds outlined above were met from these designated funds. The total funds of the charity at 31 March 2025 were £197071.15, of which funds that were restricted amounted to £4986.14. In the continuing difficult economic climate, the Trustees will continue to review all the reseNes of the charity and to monitor administration and support costs on an annual basis. The Trustees believe that the available assets of theAssociation are adequate to fulfil the programme planned for 2026. The Trustees have recognised during their risk review that sufficient reserves need to be maintained in order for theAssociation to guard against any further fall of funding in the future, particulady in the present difficLsIt economic climate. They will continue to seek further sponsorship to fund cricket activities along with identifying all possible ways of cutting cost without diminishing the value of the competitions to the schoolchildren taking part. The Trustees are extremely grateful to the many supporters and indebted to them fortheir cantinuing support. The accounts do not reflect the valuable indirect support from the MCC and Gray-Nicolls. J Weitzel, ViC￿chaIrman The independently assessed Financrdl Statement which follows has no changes from the draft and shows a deficit of (£13,939.97) which is made up of (£12,070.10) in restricted funds and {£1869.87) in unrestricted funds.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ENGLISH SCHOOLS, CRICKET ASSOCIATION I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of English Schools, Cricket Association ("the charity") for the year ended 31 March 2025, which are set out on pages 7 to 12. Responslbilitles and basls of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the CharitiesAct 2011 ('the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the charities accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examlner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect.. the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act., or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination, I have no concerns and have come across no other matters In connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn In this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
