The Trustees present their annual report and financial statements of the Charity for Ihe year ended 31 March
2024. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies sel out in note 1
to the financial statements and comply with the Charitls Trust Deed, the Charities Act 2011 and 'Accounting and
Reporting by Charities- Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objects of the Charity-
to improve the conditions of boy and gids in England under the age of 21 and of all other persons who by
reason of their poverty would olheNise be unable to obtain facilities for recreational or other leisure time
occupations.,
to provide facilities for recreational or other lelsure time occupalions for such persons in Ihe inlerests of
social welfare and in particular to provido equipment or funding to be used for recrealional or other leisure
lime occupations.
The Charity carried oul the objectlV8s noted above through the award of grants to sporting bodies and
organisalions which benefit young people. The grants were awarded lo help the various organisations to mainly
acquire sporting equipment.
GRANT MAKING POLICY
Grants are awarded after submission of claim by the applicant to the Trustees. The Trustees review the
application to judge if the grant falls within the Charity's objectives and whether the application meets ils
requirements in terms of the benefits it gives young persons. Each applicalion is discussed, reviewed and
decided upon by the Trustees at their regular meetings.
For the year ended 31 March 2024, the Trustees have agreed that grants will be made mainly for the purchase of
equipment, with preference given lo the following ihree categories..
1) Glubslorganisations which are affilialed lo a National Governing bcKJy
2) new seNices that provide a social community fun¢lion. again that should be affiliated lo a Nalional
Governillg body
31 grants generally will be no more than £1.500 allhough the Trustees will consider applications above Ihls
figure in exceptional circumstances
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
During the year, th8 Charity made grant awards totalling £41.793 {2023 - £35.050). The grants were awarded to
46 {2023 - 37) organisations involved in sporting and youth aclivities.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The surplus for the year amounted to £77.470 (2023 - deficil £109,747). The Trusl incurred a deficit of £26,922
{2023 - deficit £27,592) prior lo an inveslment gain arising on Ihe Charity's inveslmenl porlfolio tolalling £104,392
{2023 - deficit £82,155).
Principal funding came from the investment income arising on the Charily's investment portfolio. Investmenl
relLtrns increased from £24.077 in the year 31 March 2023 to £30,912 for the year ended 31 March 2024.
11 is the aim of the Trustees to maxitnise the levels of grants paid each year whilst maintaining the Trust's capital,
Ihereby ensuring the availabilily of income in future years so Ihat grant giving may be maintained.
There have been no major changes in the way the Charity has operated or its policy for carrying out its
objeclives.
The Charily is not relianl on the services of unpaid volunteers ordonalions in kind.

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES
The Trust has continued lo operale in much of the same way as in previous years. The Trustees endeavour to
manage the Charity so Ihal inveslmenl relurns are maximised lo enable the level of grants paid to be maintained.
A total of 46 organisations have benefited in the year under review from granls, with the amounts given ranging
from £300 to £2,000. Grants are primarily given for sporiing equipment or lo improve sporting facilities.
PRINCIPAL FUNDING SOURCES
The principal funding source of the Charity is growth and dividend income from the invesimenl portfolio.
INVESTMENT POWERS AND POLICY
The Trust Deed 8ulhorises the Trustees to make and hold investments using the general funds of the Charity.
The Trustees have the power to invest in any way Ihat they see fil.
It is the policy of the Trustees to hold inveslmenls at cu￿ent levels. The investment holdings are maintained
through a portfolio of government bonds. Gorporale bonds, equities, property and other alternative investmenls,
managed by a recognised investment manager. The portfolio is mainly low risk as the Trustees concentrate on a
relalively secure income stream rather than capital growth.
RESERVES POLICY
At the balance sheet date, the Charily had retained unrestricted funds lolalling £1.222,236 (2023 - £1,144,766).
It is th8 policy of the Trustees lo m8lTltain reserves al their current levels so that sufficienl investment incom8 may
be derived in order lo finance the award of grants. Th& maintenance of such signific8nl reserves represents Ihe
Trustees, aims of long term operations through the continued receipl of reasonable levels of investment income
lo finance grant awards, whilsl maintaining a hedge againsl possible fulure decreases in the market value of
investments.
FUTURE PLANS AND DEVELOPMENTS
The Trustees plan lo continue the Trust's activities so that it operates on a similar basis lo which il has operated
lo this poinl. If income returns are maintained at similar levels to the current year, they p5an lo continue giviiig
grants up lo the maximum level each year without eroding the Trust's capital and investment portfolio.

In shaping our objectives for the period and ￿annIng our activities. the Truslees have considered the Charity
Commission's guidance on public benefit. including the guidance 'public benefit= running a Gharily (PD21'. The
achievements and activities above demonslrale the public benelil arising Ihrough the Charity's activities.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing Document
The organisalion is a charitable Trust, establislied on 14th June 1962 and registered as a Charity with the Charity
Commission. The organisation is governed by Trust Deed which sets oul the objectives and powers of the
Charity and governs Ihe aclions of the Trustees.
Recruitment and Appointment of Truslees
The Trustees of the organisation are also Ihe Charily Trustees for the purposes of charity law. Thè Trust Deed
stipulates that there shall not be less than three nor more Ihan four Trustees. The power lo appoint new Truslees
rests with Boxing England. There is no sel lime limil for which a Trustee can act.
Trustees have generally been nominated because of involvement in sporting activity organisations, assisting
bodies which help Ihe young or disadvantaged, and their business acumen, thereby engendering an all roLJnd
perspective and expertise helpful lo the Charity.

Trustees Induction and Training
The Truslees maintain a good working knowledge of charity law and best praclise by attendance al charity
courses run by outside providers. New Truslees are given copies of the Trust Deed and copies of relevant
Charily Commission Publications.
Organisation
The Board of Trustees. which comprises four members, administers the Charily. The Board meets three times a
year lo review the affairs of Ihe Charily and to consider grant applications which are only paid to a beneficiary
ijpon the approval of the Board. To facililale aclivilies, the Board have delegated certain minor powers lo the
Secrelary (who is not a Trustee), who chiefly deals with correspnndence and day to day administrative affairs. All
decisions relaling to strategy and policy are made by the Board of Truslees.
Risk management
The Trust8es have a risk management slralegy whl¢h comprises:
an annual review ofthe risks the Charily may face-
the eslablishmenl of systems and procedures lo mitigate those risks idenlified in the plan.
implemenlalion of procedures designed lo minimise any potential impact on the Charity should those risks
materialise.
The review has identified on5y minor risks primarily relaling lo inveslm8nt exposure. Inveslment risk is minimised
by the maintenance of a balanced porifolio in relalively low risk holdings. A key element in Ihe management of
financial risk is the selting of a resetves policy and ils regular review by the Trustees.
Relaled parties
The Charlty does not have relalionships with related parties and olher charities and organisations with which il
co-operates in pursuit of its charitable objeclives.

TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES IN RELATION TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The Tiustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the financial statements in
accordance wilh applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the Charity and of the inaoming resources
and application of resources, including the income and expenditure for that period. In preparing these financial
slatements, the Truslees are required to:

Deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taklng reasonable
steps for the prevention and deteclion of fraud and other irregularities.

on the charitable company's websile. Legislalion in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
1.1 Basis of preparation of financial statements
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wilh the Charity's gov8ming document, tha
Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Slandard applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of
Ireland. (°FRS 102.1 and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Stalemenl of
Recommended Practice applicable to charilies preparing their accounls in accordancè with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (effeclive 1 January 2019),
The Trust constitutes a public benefit enlity as defined by FRS 102.
The financial slatemenls have deparied from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only
lo the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement
of Recommended Practice for charities applying FRS 102 rather than thÈ version of the Stalemènl of
ReGornmende.d Prac.lice, which is referred lo in Ihe Regulations, bul which has since been wilhdrawn.
The financial slatements are prepared in sterling. which is the functional currency of Ihe Charity. Monetary
amounts in these financial slatemenls are rounded lo the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under Ihe hislorical cosl convention. The principal
accountin9 policies adopted are set oul bebw.
1.2 Preparation of financial statements on a going concern basis
The Ch8rily's financial statemenls show nel surplus of £77,470 (2023- nel deficit £109.747) for the year
and free reserves of £1,222,236 (2023 - £1,144,766). The Trustees are of the view that these results have
secured th8 immediate future of the Charity for the next 12 to 18 months and on this basis the Charity is 8
going concern,
1.3 Income
Income is recognised when the Charity has enlitlement lo Ihe funds, 8ny performance conditions 8118ched
lo the item(sl of income have been mel, il is probable Ihat the income will be received and amount can be
measured reliably. Investment income is included when receivable.
1.4 Expenditure recognition and irrecoverable VAT
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or conslruclive obligation to make a payment lo a third
party, it is probable Ihal settlement will be required and thè amount of th8 obligation can b8 measured
reliably.
Expendilure is classified under the following activity headings:
{a) Cost of raising funds consisls of inveslmenl managemenl Gosls and Iheir associated support costs.
(b) Expenditure on charilable activities comprises the making of granls and th& associated support
cosls. Grants are recognised as a cost when the Board of Trustees approve the grants.
Irrecoverabl& VAT is charged as a cost against the aclimly for which the expenditure was incurred.
1.5 Allocation of sUPPOrt costs
Support costs are those funclions Ihat assist the work of the Ch3rity bul do not directly undertake
charitable activities. Support cosls include back office costs, finan￿ personnel and governance costs
which support the Trust's programmes and activilies. These costs have been allocaled between cosl of
raising funds and expenditure on charitable activities. The basis on which support costs have been
allocated are set oul in note 4.

1.6 Funds structure
Unrestricted funds are available for use al the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general
objectives of the Charity. Unrestricted funds include a revaluation reserve representing the restatement of
investment assets al market value.
1.7 Investments
Investments comprise assels held to generate fulure income. All investment assets are shown on the
balance sheet at market value at the balance sheet dale. The market value has been determined by the
Independent Investmenl Portfolio Manager. The slatemenl of financial aclivilies includes the net gains and
losses arising on revaluation and disposals throughout the year.
The Charity does not acquire pul options, derivalives or other complex financial instruments.
The main form of financial risk faced by the Charity is that of volatility in equity markets and investment
markets due to wider economic conditions, the altitude of investors to investment risk, and changes in
sentiment concerning equities and wilhin particular sectors or sub seclors.
1.8 Reallsed l unrealised gains and losses
All gains and losses are taken to the Statement of Financial Aclivilies as Ihey arise. Realised gains and
losses on investments are calculated as the difference between sal8s proceeds and their opening carrying
value or their purchase value if acquired subsequenl lo the first day of the financial year. Unrealised gains
and losses are calculated as the difference belween the fair value al the year end and Iheir carrying value.
Realised and unrealised investment gains and losses are combined in the Slalement of Financial
Activities.
1.9 Debtors
Trade and other debtors are recognised at th8 setllemenl amount due afler any trade discount offered.
Prepaymenls are valued al the amount prepaid nel of any trade discounls due.
1.10 Cash at bank and in hand
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand. deposits held at call with banks, other short-lerm liquid
inveslmenls with original malurilies of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are
shown within borrowings in current liabililies.
1.11 Creditors and provisions
Creditors and provisions are recognised where the Charity has a present obligation resulting from a past
event that will probably result in the Iransfer of funds to a third p3rty and Ihe amount due to settle the
obligation can be measured or eslimated reliably. Creditors and provisions are nomally recognised at their
settlement amounl after allowing for any trade discounls due.
1.12 Financial instruments
Tho Charity has elecled to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Financial Inslrumenls, and Section 12
'Other Financial Instruments Issues. of FRS 102 to all of ils financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the Charity's balance sheet when the Charity becomes party lo the
contractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset. wtth the net amounts presented in the financial statements, when
there 15 a legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an inlention to sellle on a
net basis or lo realise Ihe asset and settle the liability simulianeously.

Basic financial assets
Basic financial assels, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured al
transaction price including Iransaction costs and are subsequently carried al amortised cost using the
effective interest method unless Ihe arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaclion
is measured at the present value of the fulure receipts discounted at a mart(el rate of interest. Financial
assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised.
Basic f inancial liabilities
Basic financial liabililies, including credilors and bank loans are initially recognised at transaction price
unless the arrangement conslitules a financing Iransaclion. where the debt instrument is measured al the
present value of the future payments discounted at a market rale of interesl. Financial liabilities classified
as payable wilhin one year are not amortisad.
Debl instruments are subsequenlly carried at 8morlised Gosl. using ihe effective interest rate m81hod.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course
of operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabililies if payment is due within
one year or less. If nol. Ihey are presented as non-currenl liabilities. Trade credilors are recognised inilially
al transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using Ihe effeclive interest method.
Derecognition of finan¢121 Ilabilities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the Charily's contradual obligations expire or are discharged or
cancelled,
1.13 Judgement and key sources of estimation uncertalnty
In the application of the Charity's accounting policies, the Charity is required to make ludgments, estima18S
and assumptions aboul the carrying amounl of assets and liabilities thal are not readily apparent from
other sources. The estimates and assoGiated assumptions are based on historical experience and other
factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from Ihese estimates.
The estimates and underlying assumplions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate Is revised where the revision affects only that
P8riod, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affecls both current and future
periods.
1.14 Taxation
The Charity is exempl from lax on ils charitable activities.
1.15 Cash flow statement
The Charity qualifies as a small charity and advantage has been taken of the exemption provided by
SORP (FRS 1021 as amended by Bulletin 1. not to prepare a cash flow slalemenl.

ANALYSIS OF SUPPORT AND GOVENANCE COSTS
The Charity initially identifies the cA)sls of its supporl funGlions. 11 then identifies those costs which relate to
the governance function. Governance costs and other support cosls are apportioned separately between
Charity's key activities undertaken (see note 3) in the year. All the general support and govemance costs

was reimbursed expenses during the year (2023- £nil).
The Trusl paid Trustees, insurance of £319 (2023- £319).
