| Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Summary of the main activities in relation |
The Purpose of Scouting Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. The Values of Scouting As Scouts we are guided by these values: Integrity -We act with integrity; we are honest, trustworthy and loyal. Respect -We have self-respect and respect for others. Care -We support others and take care of the world in which we live. Belief -We explore our faiths, beliefs and attitudes. Co-operation -We make a positive difference; we co- operate with others and make friends. The Scout Method Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with adults, work together based on the values of Scouting and: - enjoy what they are doing and have fun - take part in activities indoors and outdoors - learn by doing - share in spiritual reflection - take responsibility and make choices - undertake new and challenging activities - make and live by their Promise. |
| The Group main function is to support the sections in achieving the aims of the Scout Association. As a Group the main activities during the last twelve months have been to support sections in providing a programme to their young people and continue with hall repairs. |
3 LT700001 (3rd December 2018)
All sections have been attempting to run some sort of remote programme when they haven’t been able to meet face to face. Scouts have run a consistent programme via zoom or face to face when allowed. The troop has been at around 15 online and 20-25 when back face to face. Cubs have struggled with online but managed to run badges from home via OSM but didn’t have much uptake. Between lockdowns they did return back face to face. The pack is being rebuilt numbers wise with approx 15 on returning to face to face Beavers have spent the last year online only but have had good numbers and run a good and balanced programme with good support from parents. They have worked on many badges and challenges. The colony is around 15 Beavers The Provision of Scouting within the Group is totally dependent on the contribution made by volunteers.

| Section E | Financial Review |
|---|---|
| Quantify and explain any designations Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves |
Reserves Policy The Group's policy on reserves is to hold sufficient resources to continue the charitable activities of the group should income and fundraising activities fall short. The Group Executive Committee considers that the group should hold a sum equivalent to 6 months running costs, circa £6,000. The Group held reserves of approximately £13,000 against this at year end. This is above the level required for operating expenses. However this can be explained by the increased grant income due to Covid 19. This will allow the Group to complete a number of projects that have been planned for some time, for which the finances have not been available previously. These are in the planning / implementation phases. |
Quantify and explain any designations Details of any funds materially in deficit (circumstances plus steps to eliminate)

Section F Other Optional Information
Plans for future periods (details of any The plans for the future are to continue to strengthen the significant activities planned to achieve Leadership teams and Executive committee in order to them) continue to provide a full and varied programme for young people. The Group is also planning to set up a partnership with the District to establish an Explorers group and are investigating the possibility of starting a pre-Beaver age group, when the Scout Association procedes with these plans. There are also plans to build on the excellent facilities we currently have, including the renewal of a large part of the fencing and improvements within the building.
