Summary of the rnain activits￿ in relation
to these objects
We continue to run 6 5ectsons, 2 beaver coloni￿. 2 Cub
Packs and 2 ScoutTroops. The leaderteam remains strong
with 31 in the team. Total youth membershiphas stayed
stable at around 130 at the end of the year. We continue
to manage our numbers to ensurethere are Spa￿ for
those moving section . Following work on out waiting list
we now have 60 from our catchment area, of which 28 are
of the age to join now and a further 12 on our out of
catchment area waitng listwtth 10 the right age to join
now. AJI sections ran a full Programme of activrtiesaimedat
giving youn5teT51eadership skills, increased self relian
and the opportunity to gain skills that will be useful
throughout their lives. In additionto the re8ular evening
meetings we ran a number of camps and day
activities.Notably we rdn a Group Comp with 150
attendees. bringing all sertions, and parents of the
younger children. together for a very successful actsvlty
weekend. During the year we gained our first
paddleboarding perrnil and inuea5edthe numberof
archery and rafting pemiitsvjhith improves our ability to
offer adventurous activitses.we ran archery, kayakin&
paddleboarding and rafting sessions and used external
providersfor climbing {indoor and on natural cliffs) caving
and tomahawk throwsng. We hope to increase the number
of pemiit holders, particularty in paddleboarding. The main
part of the Scout association 's transformation programme
was introduced during the yearwith changes to roles, Job
titles. resposlbilities. training and structures alongside a
brand new mana8ement System. This continue5 to
presenta few thallenges and it is taking time and effort to
understsnd and adaptto the new way of working. Ouring
the next year the Group lead Volunteer will be leavin8 the
role.work is underway to find a replacemenL Until that
has happened. the Group Leadership Team. made up of
the section Team Leaders, will pick upthec majority of the
work to ensuret he 8roup continues to run successfully.
The 'unIforn￿d° side of the group continus to be very well
supported by the trustee 8oard who provide valuable
guidance and expertise. As well as providing govemance,
the members of the trustee board also asist the group in
other ways, by leading on Hall maintenance and fund
rdislng.
