The group had an on-line seNice formothering Sundayand filled St Margareys Church forthe HarvestThanksgiving, ReMembran￿sundaY and the Groupcarol Sermce. Sycamore Colonyfinished the year with 22 Beavers and attained 5 Chief Scout Bronzeawardsand Chestnutcolonyfinished the year with 14 Beavers and attained 8 Chief ScoutBronze awards. The Cub Scouts meeton Mondays (Tiger Packl and Wednesdays ILi(m Pack) in term time.Tiger Cubs leader is Craig Edwards assisted by Nicole Le Monnier, Steve Corney, Dean Hamshaw, and Richard Orarn. Tiger Cubs 15 led by Dorninic Smith, M ichael Glasse, Tim Gu5terson. figer Pack is a150 as51Sted by Young Leader5 Dylan Wright and Carley fieman. Tiger Cubs had a busy program and managed to visita local hockey club, libraryand museum plus worked towards badges. Both packs managed to hold Seniorcarnps 3nd they ran a JointAnnual Cub Camp in the Summer at Blackland Farm. Unfortunately, no Wintercarnp was held d ue to Covid. Face to face meeting were held where p05sibleand werecomplimented by virtual rneeting5. Between both packs. 15 Cubsachieved the Chief Scoutsilver award. The ScoutTroop meteveryTue5day in termtime. Due to Covid-19, up till April, thi5wasvia interactive online'zoom, rneeting5.The leadershipsteamconsists of James Wright,Sinead Scott, Tom Wood, Laura Flannigan, Tom Corney and Ben Carter. Whibtth e fir st partof the year was online, this made way for face toface meetings later on.The programme included a good mix of activitytypes, including cooking, 5COUt 5ki115. craft, climbing, water-5ports and a surnmer camp. Troop nurnbers are at an all-time high, 50 are currently unableto tske any new membersfromoutsidethe grou In addition, there are 16 members and 7 leaders in Drake Explorerscoutunit, who are regISte￿d with the Districtand l in ke d by a partnership agreernent to the group. Explorer Scouts met every Thursday. The leaders are Andrew Eastman assisted by Luke Winstanley. Adam Jasko, Mark Haymes, Jtse Fox, Katie Sexton and Hannah Muller. Explorer Scouts give service to the younger sections as Young Leaders. The pandemic has impacted on nUrnbe￿ and made itchallengingto followthe awards sc he mes, with the bronze D of E expedition in June beingthe firstin 18 months. We were luckyto have a seven day summer camp in Devon. With future expeditions in mind we had a Quiz Night in Novernber. Leader5 8150tookthe opportunityto develop theirskills a n d gai ned two extra Hill Walking Permits, plus the unit ran a full adult FirstAid Course for leadersand older young peop￿.The Explorerscout financial accountsare not includedas partof 2nd Ifield Group accounts. The ScoutActive Support Unitmanager is Mark Eastman.There are 35 members plu$44 who also hold another role, totalling 79 SASU members. This year due to COVID restrictiorswhich affectedadultonly meetr'ngs morethan eventswith the young peop le. This meantwe managed to hold a social gatheringand our annual Christmas Dinner. Although we did not meet a5 a u nit, 3 lot of supporting the young people's sections, providing a full summer paddle sport season and recommenced the Group's shooting sessions. The Supporters, and fundraising Committeearranged Several event5 buthad to cancel due tothe Pandemic. Howeverthe group dKJ manage to stsge a firework display open tothe publicon nearbylfield Village Green which proved successful. The HQ 15 owned bythe Group. on land in Friston Walk. Ifield. lea5edfromCrawley Boroughcou nal. The Group is a trustestablished under its rulesthatare common to all ScoutGroups.
