The Group Executive Committee, the Leaders and the Supporters, and Fundraising Committee eath metfour times duringthe year.

The Groupwas led by Kerry Pearsonas Group Scout Leader.
The number of mernbers in the Group tsn 315tJanuary2021was (with 2019 numbers in bracket51 BeaverScout5 361451 Cub Scouts
561521, Scouts 421391, Active Support, 74 143 also hold another role, inc leaders.) TOTAL 208. In addition, there are 241311
membersand 6161 Leaders in the Drak& Explorerscout Unit, who are registered with Crawley District and linked bya Partnersh ip
Agreementtothe Group.Youth Sections have a reasonable balance of girls and boys.
Due to the Pandemic with Covid we found ourselvesvery limited in whatwe could undertakeas a group.There were some eve nts
early in the year with Winter camps in January. However, we were un3tAe to meetface toface for mostof the year an d whe n we
could we met via Zoom lonlinel. The Group held a number of @home events including St George's Day, VE Day, NHS 8irthdav,
Harvest Festival. We also had two online servi￿$,. Remembrance Sundayand our Carol selv1￿ In the summer and upto November
due tothe strictcontro15 requI￿dt0 meet, included reducednumber5.the Beavers. Cubsand Explorers man aged to have some
socially distanced face to face meeting5.The group did manage 50rne hold a numberof Paddlesport 5es5ion5 ori Ti Igate Lzke znd
trips on local rivers.
Both Sycamore and Chestnut Beavercolonies metthroughoutthe year duringtermtime, either faceto face or virtually. Sycamore
Beaver Leaders are Karen Pitt, Ruth Glasse, Diana Parisi and Alan Seymour (from November). Chestnut BeaverLead ers a re Shon
Gr3ves, fv1arianne Corneyand Amy Muller. Both Colonies were assisted byyoung Leaders Alicewhelan (until July), Tot>y Russe I l-
O'Reilly,Jasmine Richards, Millie Comeyand Robert Hull. Both Colonies held their wintersleepovers at Copthorne Scout Hut i n
January. Sycamore Colony finished the year with 21 Beavers and attained 4 CSA Bronze awards and Chestnut finished with 15
Beaver5 and attained 3 CSA Bronze 3wards.
The Cub Scouts meeton Mondays (Tiger Packl and Wednesdays ILiu) Pack) in term time.The leaderisCraiB Edwa rds assisted by
Nicole Le Monnier. Steve Corney. Dean Ham5haw, and Richard Oram for Tiger Pack and Dominic Smith. Michael Gla55e, Tim
Gu5terson, Nick Eatwell. Matt Dudley and Geoff Body for Lion Pack. Tiger Pack is a150 a5S15ted by young leader5 Tilly and Molly
Mitchell. Due to Covid and the Lockdown there was noAnnual Cub Camp or Senior Camp but Tiger Cubs did gettheir firstchanTr of
a Winter Camp in Feb at Bentley Copse. Both Packs have managed to run Virtual meetings and where permitted Face to Face
meeting5throughoutthe year and also had weekly challerEes and Hike5. Two Lion Cubsearnttheir Silver award during Lockdown.
with manyothersobtaining badges. A major eventin 2020was 75 Anniversaryof VE Day which sawsome street parties with social
distancing.
The ScoutTroop met everyTuesday in termtime. Due to Covid-19, from April thiswasvia interactive online'zoom. meeti ngs. The
leadershipsteamconsist5 of James Wright,Sinead Scott, Tom Wood, Laura Flannigan and Tomcorney. Whilst main IV on l i ne, the
2020 programme still included agood tnix of activitytypes, including quizzes, gatne5hows. cotskitE, craftand comedy. We managed
our annual 'Log Cabin Camp, at the start of the year, but the remainder of our trips (including the main summer camp)
unfortunately had to be postponed pending lockdown.
In addition,there are 24 members 3nd 6 Leaders in Drake Explcrer SccAJt Unit, who are registeredwith the Districtand lin ked by a
Partnership Agreement to the Group. Explorer Scouts met every Thursday. The leader is Andrew Eastman, assisted by Luke
Winstsnley, AdamJ3sko, Mark Haymes,Joe Fox, and Aniajasko. Explorer ScoLrtmembersgive Ser￿1¢et0the you nge r sections as
Young Leaders. Members havegained 4 Dukeof Edinburgh Bronze. 2 Silver and 81ongwith Chief Scout9. Platinum and l Diamond
Awards. Before the stsrtof the first lockdown in March we had two camps both at Broadstone Warren our annual wintercamp and
The Great Escape. All other camps and activities had to be cancelled due to the pandemic this includes our summer camp to

The Scout Active Support Unit M8n8ger is Mark Eastman assisted by Di3na P3risi. There are 31 members plus 43 who also hold
another role,totslling 74 SASU rnernbe￿. Priorto lockdown we heldtwo meetings, our annual reviewand programming meeting in
and a visit to Worth Abbey. During the summer when the sections were able to meet, our members support these along with
runninga number of paddle sport events.Aswe are adult only sectionwe could not meet aswe were restricted to 6. Me mbe rs
joined in the group eventsthrough la5tyear includirEthe hikes, RemembrarKeSunday,VE d3y, etc.
Atthe beginningof the year Imogen Mason, Caitlyn PittandTom Corney all became Qu*n'sScouts.At the time of f i nish i ng they
were between Explorersand Network.
The Supporters, and fundraising Committeeèrranged several events buthad to cancel due to the Pandemic.
The HQ 15 owned bythe Group, on land in Fri5ton Walk, Ifield, leased fromcrawley Boroughcouncil.
The Group is a trust estsblished under its rules thatare common to all ScoutGroups. Trustees are appointsd in accordancewith the

Policy, OrgaNisation & Rules of the Scout Association. The accounts have been drawn up on a receipts and payments basis
consistentwith previous yea￿.
