Chaimian's Report It's been another challenging year for 1 Cro￿[[)￿h and all scout groups, working wthin govemment aThl the scout as$(￿latIOn guidelines wÉth regards to the Covid pandemic. However. our long-standing g￿up is blessed with a fantastic team of leaders, assisted by enthusiasts"¢ parents, guided by this committee of hard-working members especially the treasurer and secretary. As a result, the finances are healthy and the committee has been kept in line actively workn.ng to keep the wheels tuming and in th8 right direction. Thankfully all sections are now back up and running, albert with slightly reduced numbers. I'm sure once the word gets out the youngsters wtll come flcoding back to join in with the ex￿lIent program of ath'vities plamed for them. It wasn't easy getting ￿rtain buitding done during lock(k)wn or even geth.ng together to do the simpler tssks undertaken by adult volunteers from within the group. The maintenance of the hall surroundings is rKyw beirvJ undertaken for the benefit of everyone. Trustees The trustees named ￿ Page 1 have served durirvJ the year. The Trusts are appointed in accordan￿ the Policy. Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association, ￿lch allows Warranted Leaders to opt-in as Trustees and for the Group St))ut Council to elect others as is felt appropnate. Investment Policy The Group's Trustees are aulhorised to make and hold investments using the general funds of the charity. H¢)￿ever, the Group dC￿S mt hold sufficient ￿ndS to invest and has therefore adopted a nsk averse strategy with all fijnds being held in cash using only banks or ￿1[dir0 S)uet*s that are inGknded in the Finanaal servI￿s Compensation Scheme

1" CROWBOROUGH SCOUT GROUP Constitution, Objects and Policies The Group is a trust established under its rules. which are common to all Scouis. Its goveming documents are those of The S(xiut Association. They consist of a Royal Charter, whith in tum gives authottty to Bye Laws of the Association and the Policy. OrganisatiorF and Rules of The Scout Association. The Obj'ectives of the group are as a unit of the Scout Association. The aim of whith is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual. social and spiritual poterrtials, as individuals, as responsible ciiizens and as members of their local, national and internalional communtlies. The method of achieving this aim is by providing an enjoyable and attradive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership. The reserves policy of the Group is to maintain sufficient funds to continue the charitable activittes of the Group for a minimum period of 3 months shoukl income and fundraising activities cease and also sufficient to meet any major unforeseen ost generated as a ￿sUIt of necessary maintenance to the Group's f￿hold property. The Group Executtve Commrtlee considets that the Group should hold circa £10,000 in this resFect. The Group held reserves sufficient to meet this target at the year-end wholly in line with the policy. The Sertions hold suffiGient fiJnds to meet their immediate needs. Public Benefft The Group meets the Charity Commission's publtc ber￿fft criteria under toth the advancement of education and the advancement of citizenship or communlty development headings. Financial Vlew Funds availab￿ are sufficient to perniit the charity to continue in operation in medium term.

1st CROWBOROUGH SCOUT GROUP Statement of trustees, reSP￿sIbIlItieS The Group is managed by the Group Executive Commrttee, the members of which are the charity trustees of the Group, which is an educats'onal tharity. As Gharity trustees they are responsikje for complying wth legislation applicable to charities induding the registration, keeping of proper accounts and n7aking retums to the Charity Commission as appropriate. The Group Executive Commtlieè èxists to support the Group Scout Leader in meeting the responsibiliti'es of the appointrnent, and is responsible for the maintenance of the property, the raising and administration of the Group's funds, the Insuran￿ of people, property and equipment, assisting with recruitment and appointment of necessary sub committees. administrators and advisors other than those elected. The harity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibilty to: examine the accounts ￿￿ler sedion 145 of the Charities Act. to follow the proc8dures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Ad) and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examlnefs report My examination was carried out in arLOrdan￿ with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. examination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts preserrted with those reoyds.
