The Guide Association Greater London West The Truses present their report in accordance with the Charity's governing document and the relevant Staten]eTrt of Recommended Practice (the Charities. SORP 2019). STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT The County is govern by an Execuliv¢ Committee, comprising, inter alia, representatives of each of the Divisions within the area of operation. The Guide Association is incorporated by Royal Charter. The County is an unincorporated Association govemed by the same Royal Charter and its bylaws under which the constitulion of the Executive Committee has been established. The Trustees are thc voting members of the Executive Committee. With the exception of the County Commissioner, who is appointed by the Region Chief Commissioner in consultation with members of the Execulive Committee. ail members of the Executive Committee are appointed by the County Conunissioner in Consultatio where appropriate, with Membe of the local County Executive Committees. To have sufficient adult volunteer leaders to enable every girl and young woman to have the opportunity to join us; To sustain and promote a slimu]ating and enjoyable programme of activities based on guiding prAnciples' To ensure that all adult leaders within the County are approprialely trained and fully supported. To idenlify and make use of all available Tesource3 and expertise for the bencfit of membeTS'. To act as a communication channel between the Divisions and other units in the County as well the Rcgion and Guide Association nationally. A rerxjrt on Girlguiding UK'$ public benefit activities during the previous can be found in its latest Annual Rewrt. The county of Greater tA)ndon Wegt I% continued to provide its public beneflt activities in particular by providing organisational and administrative support and training to subsidiary branchcs of Girlguiding UK within the County, and organising 8etivit1¢5 prin¢ipa]ly for the benefit of those branches, and also promotingmor¢ broadly thecharitsble objectivesof Girlguiding UK forthe benefit of gir15 and young women. County of Greater London IVt Th¢ purposc of the County is to deliverthe alK)ve in the County ofGreater London West in accordance ith th¢ ¢urrcni Guiding Manual. The County ¢onsi5ts of just over 3.700 members and covers the area of the four London Boroughs of Kingsto Merton, Riehmond and Sutton.
Th¢ Guide Association Greater London West ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE I am delight¢d to be able to retM)rt that the girls and leaders of Greater London West have had another busy and successful year with rnany achievements despite the continued impacl ofcovid-19 during 2021. Units have been cr¢ativ¢ in meeting tn various ways a5 according to the restriclions. Sotn¢ continued to Use a virtual platforni until the Autumnwhilst others outtloors when indoors was not pcrmittcd. It is a truc credit to our volunteers that girls have had access to a range of activities that they have been able to have and enjoy. We had 16 girls complete the Guide Gold Award. 16 adults completcd their Adult Leadership Qualification 4 giTls compleied their Young Leader Qualificalion 2 adults Completed their Residential Qualification for a different ti0ft We were delighted that two adults were awarded the British EpIre Medal in the New Year Honours Listl Fantastic to have th¢ir voluntary wotk valued in this way. Due to the Coronaviru4 no international V¢] has been witted but I know several units are planning for fijture ye&r5. 117 Girls and 15 leaders received Jack Pet¢h¢y Awards With further loekdowns and strIctiOnS in 2021. w¢ w¢r¢ unable to any county ev¢nts for the girls to take part in. The focus has be¢n on supporting units to re-start face to face. The February census showed that we had 250/0 decrease in girl members and 220/0 decrease in volunteers. Divisions worked hard to recrnit more volunteers lo replace some of the adults by taking part in a variety of local events to th¢ir are& By the end of th¢ year, nUTniKrs had started to in¢rea8e The summer tern) saw many units meeting outdoors again in parks. HQ field4 tennis clubs. as w¢ll as at our campsite. Heyswood. At the latt¢r, girls were able to enjoy the new a¢tivitics that had been put in in 2020- twin zip wire, basket swing and improved waterslide. The low ropes were also very popular. At Heyswoc>d, we w¢rc able to make adaptions in BP Lodgc lo bc ablc to meet this Tequ5rn¢nt from Scptember.
