The Group Is managed by the Board of Trustees, the members of which
are the 'Charity Trustees, of the Scout Group vh)ich is an educational
charity. As charity trustees they are responslble for complyng v
leglslallon applicable lo charities. This Includes the reglstratlon. keeplng
proper accounts and making retums to the Charity Commission as
appropriate.

chaired by the Group Lead Volunteer.

The Board of Trustees has identified the major risks to which they believe
the Group Is exposed. these have been reviewed and systems have been
estsblish8d to mlttgate agalnst them. The main areas of concem that have
been identified are:
Damage to the building, property and equipment. The Group would
request the use of buildings. propety and equipmenl fmm neighbouring
organisations such as the church. community centre and other Scout
Groups. Similar reciprocal arrangements exist with these organisations.
The Group has sufficient buildings and contents insurance in place to
mitigate against pennanent loss.
Injury to leaders. helpers, supporters and members. The Group through
e capitation f88s contributes to the Scout Associations national accident
insuranc8 policy. Risk Ass8ssm8nts are undertaken before all a¢tlvltles.
Reduced income from fund raising. The Group is primarily r@liant upon
income from subscriptions arKI fundraising. The group does hold a reserve
o ensure the continulty of advities should there be a m8jor reduction in
Income. The Board could raise the value of subscriptions to increase the
Income to the group on an ongoing basis, either temporarily or
P8rn1anently.
Reduction or loss of leaders. The group is totally reliant upon volunteer5 to
run and administer the activities of the group. If there was a reduction in
e number of leaders to an unacceptable level in a particular section o
group as a whole then there would have to be a contraction.

complete closure of the Group.

All sections take part in regular Camping activities, wlth the exception of
younger Beaver Scouts who sleep indoors and also undertake a number
of outings and activities. There are various programmes of fvnd ralslng
across the Group for both the Group itself and local. natlonal and SwLrtlng
charltles. The sectlonal Leader teams ensure that the temily programmes
ar8 planned to provlde a sultable balanGe of aGtlvltl8S.

the charity during the year
The total membership of the Group as at 31st January 2025 was 70 wlth
12 names on tha waiting list. The Leaders and helpers involved continue
to provlde a progresslve and challenging programme of events and
activities. FurKI raising including Gift Aid has continued to provide the
necessary finance for the Group's activities.

Investment Policy
The Group do8s not have sufficient funds to invest In longer temi
investments. The Group has therefore adopted a risk averse strategy to
the investment of its funds. All funds are held In cash using onty
mainstream banks or bulldlng societies.

The Group has tsken up the loro term leas8 of land at Pshford Sports
Club, and is building a new HQ whlch will also serve as a Community
centre for a wide range of other groups in the area. The building is almost
cofflplete. A grant of £899.645 by Surrey County Council had almost all
been drawn down. a fijrther grant of £50,CK)O from St. Faith's Charitable
Trusl has b88n paid and the group is now using Its own funds to flnlsh
the project. Fundralslng continues.
