The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024.
The accounts have been prepared in accor(Jance with the accounting policies set out in note 1
to the accounts and comply with the charity's trust deeds, applicable law, and the
requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by
Charities" issued in March 2005.
Objectives of the charity
The charity was established by a charitable trust deed dated 21 May 1964. The charity's
Objectives are:
a. The upkeep and maintenance of the land and buildings known as the Wootton Bassett
Memorial Hail, iogeiner wiin cnatteis.
b. The gÈner81 benÉftt of the inhabitants of the town of Royal Wootton B8ssett in such
haritable ways as the Trustee see5 fit.
Review of activities
Thc principol focus of the trust's activitics during thc year 2024 has bcen hiring of thc Hall.
This year a grant was obtained and the car park resurfaced.
With limited hiring income and incre88ing expenditure, the challenge for the Trust in the next
fewyears will be to manage its budgets carefully. To this end the Trust is building on the
process of developing a more sophisticated budget to monitor its expeiidilure and bring its
budget into balance, something which has received little management attention in the past. A
Lot of focus will be targeted on applying tor external Rrant funding.
