BOX VILLAGE HALL (KNOWN AS THE SELWYN HALL)

Registered Charity number: 305468

Selwyn Hall Management Committee (SHMC).

Annual report for the year 1st April 2023 to 31 March 2024

It is my sad duty to present this report in place of our late Chair, Paul Thomas, who died on 2[nd] April 2024 after a long illness during which he continued to lead the Committee with undiminished dedication. The achievements reported here are in no small part his legacy. I am also sorry to report the death on 30[th] April 2024 of nominated trustee, Peter Jones, who represented the Garden Club.

During the year covered by this report the SHMC worked to ensure that the Selwyn Hall continued to be a suitable and safe facility for the village. Thanks are due to all the trustees, those nominated to represent key users of the Hall and those who are elected to serve as officers of the Committee.

Use of the Hall improved further as previous users returned and new users were attracted. This is reflected in an improved financial outcome. We are grateful to Box Parish Council, the Bingham Trust and Box Revels for their financial support in the year.

As trustees, we will continue to address the economic and practical challenges of running the hall to maintain it as an asset for the village.
