North Mundham Playing Field Management Committee Review of the year April 2023 - March 2024

e | will start by thanking all the trustees, treasurer and committee members. We were particularly sad that John Paul who was our secretary, had a fall at home in July. He spent time in hospital and was gradually recovering, but in early October he suddenly died. We have been trying to find a new person to take on this role.
e We remain ina good financial position and the treasurer will give further details in her report, however rising electricity and grass cutting costs have inevitably increased, so hire charges have gone up.
e@ The Chichester Free School have only used the field occasionally this year. e The Chichester City Girls and Ladies teams decided to leave as the increase in hire charges were too much for them. ,
e Anew group Chichester City Colts Football Club started to use the field in August 2023 and have continued with training and matches during the year.
e In July the area on the Eastern side of the field was overlaid with soil to cover the scrubby edge. This will be reseeded at the appropriate time. We have continued to received request from other Football groups to use the field but can’t be accommodated.
e The Small Pavilion has continued to be used on a Thursday morning by Café Connect and continues with ‘regulars’ attending.
e The Sunbeams playgroup has continued to operate in the Large Pavilion, and their numbers have remained stable.
e Boredom Busters have continued to provide holiday activities for youngsters aged 5-11. They have run sessions in the school holidays.
e The Youth Club continues to meet in the Large Pavilion on a Wednesday during school terms. were given a rebate on their charges to help their financial position.
® Agroup led by Cllr Ann Preston from the Parish Council has been carrying out litter picking in the village and the playing field. They plan to survey the wooded area on the eastern boundary and with advice from a local environment expert will submit proposals to ‘improve’ the access to this area.
e Ongoing discussions about the ownership and leases of parts of the Playing field site will hopefully be resolved in the due course.
