| Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document Para 1.17 Sea Cadets units were created by communities wanting to give young people instruction on a naval theme. The unit is a member of the Sea Cadet Corps governed by the MSSC —the Marine Society & Sea Cadets. We aim to inspire young people to reach their potential by developing valuable, personal attributes like team working, independence and communication skills through nautical based adventure. |

Para 1.20 | Crawley Sea Cadets has provide training and development in a structured environment, which is provided via parade nights at the Crawley Unit along with other activities and training such as boating, field craft and sports. Within the current year we have managed to get many cadets boating using both Tilgate Lake and Sea Cadets at Shoreham Harbour. This includes rowing, sailing and powerboating. As well as the boating throughout the Summer Crawley Sea Cadets has taken responsibility for a Adventure Training Centre which has been utilised for walking, mountain biking and by the Royal Marine Cadets and Junior Sea Cadets. As well as the cadets gaining new skills and qualifications staff have also managed to develop themselves by attending courses which has in turn benefitted the cadet experience at Crawley. Crawley Sea Cadets has improved and grown over this financial period which will continue to do so over the coming years. |

Para 1.21 | At the end of the financial period 31 Mar 2025, the Charity held cash £86k. This is sufficient for the running costs of the Unit. The surplus at the end of the period was £15k. There is £15K that have been set aside for back rent and other maintenance costs required to maintain the hall for the prescribed maintenance work to ensure that it is up to the relevant health and safety standards. |

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31.03.2025.
Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
