Frant Memorial Hall Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2023 Full name: Frant Memorial Hall Other names by which the charity is known: Frant Hall Registered charity number: 305231 Principal address: The Green, Frant, Tunbridge Wells, TN3 gED Trustees: Professor Patrick Godfrey Mrs Nicola Holland Governance and management: The charity is operated under the rules of its governing document being the deed of gift dated 12 May 1921 and is unincorporated. Trustees are re-elected each year. The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit, 'Charities and Public Benefit,. Objectives and activities: The purpose of the charity is for the provision and maintenance of a village hall for use by the community of Frant and surrounding areas. The hall is used for a wide variety of classes and other forms of recreation and leisure time activities, ranging from fitness classes to baby groups and Social events such as private parties. Achievements and performance: The bookings are continuing to improve and are almost back to pre Covid-19 levels. The remainder of the work on the replacement of the windows that was started in 2022 was carried out this year and has now been completed. A defibrillator was purchased in March 2023 for use by the hall and the community. £5,476 was received in donations towards the purchase of the defibrillator and the ongoing running and maintenance costs. Financial review: At the end of the period the charity recorded a deficit of £8,614 and had reserves of £39,807. £2,408 of the reserves are attributed to the defibrillator fund for the ongoing costs and maintenance of the defibrillator. The deficit was largely due to the substantial repairs and maintenance costs incurred this year, primarily the £10,125 spent on the

replacement of the hall windows. The hall also paid £720 for replacement fencing, £500 for servicing and upgrading the AV system and £450 for an asbestos management survey. Reserves are held by the charity to ensure sufficient funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the hall and in order to make future improvements to the facilities. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charitie5 Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under s,145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions 8iven by the Charity Commission under s.14515}(bl of the Att.
