SURREY COUNTY FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS
County Executive Meeting - Tuesday 7[th] Oct 2025 County Chair Report – Choe Booker
We kicked off the Young Farmers calendar by celebrating our 80 years of Surrey, by hosting a Gala Dinner with ex young farmers and committee members as well as current young farmers and committee members.
Then we had our inter club meeting at Betchworth Village Hall where the clubs competed in the ‘Gold Rush’ competitions and only a week later we had the Chair, Vice Chair and Secretaries from each club attend our Club Officer Training Day.
Indoor rally was a successful day at the Priory with lots of entries for all the classes. So many of them then had the opportunity to go on to the South of England, which they continued to excel in.
We had out stock judging day to help members qualify and do even better at the South of England and Cowpie. We also had another interclub evening of rounders where we had an amazing turnout, including the appearance from the Clerk of Works lot to join the fun.
Speaking of Cowpie, after a nerve wracking wait to see how the weather would be after the date change, the day turned out to be a great success for everyone. The clubs did exceptionally well at the static competitions, main ring competitions and the stock judging.
Last but not least, we finished off the calendar with the Activity Weekend at High Ashurst which was jam packed, fully booked weekend for a range of members.
I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say we were unsure how the past year was going to go, after moving almost every single event that the committee have to prepare for. However, thanks to club leaders, parents, every committee member and even the Young Farmers themselves, I believe this has been one of our most productive years as the County membership proves.
I also want to say a massive well done and thank you to Sandra for her continued commitment to the organisation. Her efforts often go unseen and I don’t doubt that the coming year will have any less obstacles to throw at her and the rest of us.
I also want to thank everyone that has given up their own time to fulfil a role in County and represent Surrey and hope these individuals are willing to continue to show their muchappreciated support in the future.
Without your support, there would be no Surrey Young Farmers

Independent Examiner's report to the Surrey Federation of Young Farmers Clubs
This report on the accounts of the Surrey Federation of Young Farmers for the year ended 31st July 2025, which are set out on pages 1 to 4.
Respective responsibilities of the SFYFC and the examiner
The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
. examine the accounts (under section 145 of the Act),
-
. to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission
-
(under section 145(5)(b) of the Act), and
-
. to state whether particular matters may have come to my attention.
Basis of this report
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiners statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements
-
. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the act;
-
and
-
. to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act; have not been met; or
-
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
