CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 2024
Welcome to this year’s A.G.M. Thank you for coming.
In October, Paul Bennett joined this committee to represent the Horticultural Society. Over the years, the Horticultural Society had taken on the maintenance of the surrounding gardens. In return, they received a large discount when hiring the halls for their summer show. Their committee decided not to have an all day summer show hence would no longer look after the gardens. This work has now been part of the village hall committee’s responsibility. We look to Paul to arrange a work party when the garden needs to be tidied.
As an extra night became available at the hall the Scouts will now no longer try to build an extension to the hall for their use.
A portrait of the King has been hung in the main hall.
Hilary Parker had been a lovely member of our committee to represent the W.I. A task she carried out extremely well. Her illness and death was a very sad time for us all.
It was a shock to us all when John Railton was taken very ill in January. It was a very difficult time for Lynda and the family. We are now delighted he is making a slow but positive recovery and hope this summer sees him well on the mend.
Val Wickenden informed us at the April meeting she would like to leave the committee. Val had been a a very strong and reliable member for over 20 years. She has always said yes before knowing the job to be done. Val, we will miss you very much.
We will have a fund raising quiz on 12[th] October, the money raised will help with decorating the main hall next February half term week. Also the end wall will be insulated and replaced with a more solid surface. This will be a large outgoing of funds.
Lynda-the full committee thanks you for all your hard work this year. You struggled on when John was so ill and I know at times without the support of John it was a huge task. We all thank you very much.
Thank you to all the members for attending meetings and carrying out various tasks through-out the year.

I have been involved with the Felbridge Village Hall since 1984. I have been on the Committee since 1989 and Chairman for the past 20 years. I now feel it is time for me to move on. I would like someone to take on the role of Chairman now and I am happy to stay as a member for another year.

FELBRIDGE VILLAGE HALL REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER OF THE ACCOUNTS ST FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 I report on the Financial Statements attached hereto which comprise of a Balance Sheet as at 31 March 2024 and an Income and Expenditure Account for the year ended on that date.
