CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 2022

A year of great improvement for the village hall. We seem to now be almost back to normality…..long may it last.

Before Covid, a discussion started as to how we could improve the club room. After many ideas and various suggestions, a plan to strip the wood from the walls, replaster the entire room was the first plan. After more consideration it was decided to remove the two sets of doors into the main hall leaving only the middle set. This way, it is hoped it will reduce the noise level between the rooms, thus hopefully allowing both rooms to be separately booked at the same time. After receiving three quotations for the work, a decision has been made and work will commence in late July.

In September 2021 we decided to have a new fascia board for the front of the hall. A complete length of white board with FELBRIDGE VILLAGE HALL in black has been fitted.

Apart from general maintenance and repairs this year has been fairly quiet.

We welcomed Hilary on to the committee to represent the W.I.

It has now been decided to change our meetings to only four a year. These will be October, January, April and July which will still be the A.G.M.

Lynda , my thanks to you for your hard work in both the bookings and financial matters, it has not been easy, receiving last minute cancellations due to Covid, but somehow you still manage to keep us well in the black.

Val, well done for all the minutes and carrying out the Annual Inspection in February. Tony, your input with the club room alterations and other work is very much appreciated.

A big thank you to every committee member for your support and help during the year and always being on hand when needed.

Thank you Sarka and your family including John for maintaining the hall to a high standard throughout the year.
