Chairmans Report - Cavendish Hall AGM on Wednesday 23[rd] February 2023
This has been a difficult year for the management committee. Both our Chairman, Ian Turner and Secretary, Maggie Towers resigned leaving a very big hole behind, I particulary miss Maggies efficient secretarial skills. with nobody in place I very reluctantly volunteered to try and fill the gap left. We had two people join us on the committee, one has agreed to be a trustee.
On the positive side, our Air source pump heating is now operating and is providing a warm overall heat. The solar panels are in place supplying us with electricity keeping our costs down. The Audio and visual system is working and there have been very positive comments from users. We are very grateful to the grants received from the Parish Council and Mid Suffolk. We will be upgrading our lighting system and decorating the hall in 2023. We have to keep our hall updated for the future.
All our regular users returned to the hall after lockdown, and bookings are very good. Hayley does an excellent job.
Steve Taylor is retiring from being Treasurer although he is continuing as a trustee, I want to thank him for the years he has been our treasurer and for all his hard work. We are very grateful Trevor White volunteered to take over.
I cannot underestimate the commitment that our management committee make to our hall and the hard work they undertake, we must continue to work together to keep our hall viable, comfortable and a place we would want to book ourselves. Thank you to you all
