Additional governance issues (Optional inforniation)
As a small local stand alone charity, we provide new trustees with
infonrjation packs and forward other information packs as you issue them.
We have regular meeting which are used to discuss and formulate policies
for emerging issues, problems and questions and opportunities.

culture. sporL recreation & socialising.
Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its
governing document

We act in the public benefit by providing this venue within our
community and keeping the costs of using the hall as low as is
possible, while covering overheads and ensuring we maintain both
building and playing areas to a safe stsndard.
We are proud of the activities which take place in our hall.
organised by volunteers and local individuals who provide sports
and social events. particularly beneficial to our elderly population.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charty
Commission on public
benefit)
Additional details of objectives and activities {Optional infonnation)
We do not award grants and any money we have which is not needed
immediately is placed in a building society account to accrue interest until
it is needed.
For example our building is 90 years old and 2024 was a year of volatile
weather. which caused movement and breakage of roof tiles very
regularly. As the building has not been re-roofed for many years we have
kept money aside for this very costly repair. especially as grants are
harder to obtain in the present financial climate.
You may choose to include
fvrther statements, where
relevant. about:
policy on grantmaking;
policy programme related
investment"
We are very pleased to welcome volunteers to help us and we are lucky
that as a small village someone is usually available to help when needed.
contribution made by
volunteers.

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Our main achievements in 2024 were actually to keep the hall running
and especially the continuing popularity and expansion of our comminuty
cafe and our toddler group, catering for both ends of the age spectrum
and those who often have no access to transport (there being no public
transport in our area).
We also maintain a free to use play area which is well used by local
children and teenagers as a safe place to meet and have fun. This
obviously comes at a financial cost, but for 2024 we have been fortunate
to receive grant funding from our local Parish Council. We are very
grateful to them.

Section E
Financial review
We keep a reserve fund of £25,000 to enable us to respond quickly
to any urgent repairs. Again this is vital as we have an elderly
building.
We aim to keep all funds except a working balance in a building
society account so it can accrue interesL
Brief statsment of the
charity's policy on reserves
Details of any funds materially
in deficit
No funds are in deficiL
Further financial review details (Optional information)
Our major fundraising is through our village hall lottery which is supported
by almost all the families in the village. We take in over £8.000 per year
and we give back 50 % , with the monthly draw giving out six prizes, (72
prizes per year). This has been very successful and as our hall is elderly
has meant we can fund repairs and make improvements when needed.
You may choose to include
