|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the<br>charity,  identifying the<br>difference the  charity’s<br>work has made to  the<br>circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any<br>wider  benefits to society<br>as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|**The Village Hall is an important facility**<br>**in  the small village of Yarwell**<br>**(population ca  430), enabling the**<br>**provision of services  to the**<br>**community.**<br>**It is the venue for Parish Council**<br>**meetings, and is used as a Polling**<br>**Station  in local and national elections.**<br>**Other groups, including a fortnightly**<br>**Lunch Club for older residents, hire the**<br>**hall for regular use, and it is also hired**<br>**for  private functions.**<br>**It is designated muster point and**<br>**shelter  for residents in the event of an**<br>**emergency.**<br>**An AED (Defibrillator) has been**<br>**purchased by the charity and is sited at**<br>**the hall. The charity is responsible for**<br>**the  maintenance of this and any**<br>**expenses  arising, eg replacement defib**<br>**pads and  signage.**<br>**Secured free of charge Broadband for**<br>**all  hall users.**<br>**Non-residents are able to hire the hall,**<br>**which is charged at a slightly higher**<br>**rate.**|

Regular  hirers were supported**<br>**with free use of  the hall so income was**<br>**reduced while  maintenance costs still**<br>**needed to be met.
