HPFA AGM report to the Trustees 2023
Our hall hire increased slightly this year to £15,719 .
We continue to have a good solid foundation of regular user bookings for the hall , along with PreSchool in the greenway Room.
The Sport clubs continue to be supportive and their help managing our facilities is invaluable.
The HPFA has benefited from continued financial support from WODC in the form of 100% rate relief on the building and we obtained grants of £23131 towards the cost of the new mower required to keep the playing fields grass cut .
Between our users, HPFA and the Social Club, fund raising for charity and good causes our income has been £48,726 in the past year. With outgoings of £56,988 of which £30842 was for equipment this has given us a net loss of £8,262 , meaning our unrestricted funds now stand at £12,545.
We continue to work closely with the Parish Council in developing plans toward a new Community Hub , with planning application hoped to be finalised and submitted later in 2024 after consultation with the village.
Finally, I would like to thank the committee for all its support and hard work over this past year.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the trustees of Hanborough Playing Fields Association – registered charity no: 304310
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] October 2023 as attached.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner.
As the Charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43 (7) (b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s report:
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement.
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention.
(1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material aspect the requirements
-
To keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and
-
To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act
Have not been met; or
- (2) To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
