REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES - YEAR TO MARCH 2024
The Greenway Room where the Pre-School meets continues to provide us with excellent facilities for the children, an office with storage and bespoke children’s toilets. We also have an excellent outside area which we are very proud of, and further resources are always being added to enhance the experience for the children.
The current staff team consists of Claire Wade Manager , Charlotte Church Assistant Manager , Megan Leach , Hannah Elphick ,Sarah Leach and Chantelle Saunders. An excellent team who works extremely hard to provide excellent care and nurturing of the children. We said a sad goodbye to our long-time employee/manager/senco Jackie Moss who retired in July 2023.
Forest School sessions now on Thursday which are very popular and enthusiastically enjoyed by all participants.
Thanks goes to our staff for all their continued efforts in making PreSchool what it is and in particular for working so hard to ensure the children attending have a great and varied experience.
We were delighted with our OFSTED report and being found OUTSTANDING – very well deserved from all the hard work and efforts by the staff team
Also thank you to all those on the Committee who have supported PreSchool during the year 01/04/2023 to 31/03/2024 and to the fund raising team whose events raise monies for equipment for the setting. This year we they raised over £5000 after expenses which is used to buy more equipment and activities for the children .

Independent Examiner’s Report to the trustees of Hanborough Pre-School – registered charity no: 304309
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] March 2024 as set out on the attached.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner.
As the Charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2)) of the Charities Act 2011 and that an independent audit is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act.
-
Follow the procedures laid down in the General Direction given by the Charity Commissioners section 145(5)b of the 2011 Act and
-
State whether particular matters have come to my attention
Basis of independent examiner’s report:
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement.
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention.
(1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material aspect the requirements
-
To keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act and
-
To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records
-
Have not been met; or
-
(2) To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
