UMT admin. He thanked the President Keli Watts for always being supporting and working hard behind the scenes for the best interests of the Unit. Toby Harrison was also thanked for all his efforts in the MT project work for the Unit Minibus. He also welcomed Nick Cartwright to the UMT and thanked him for his work in fundraising support and applications noting how lots of charities were struggling to raise funds with normal activities usually bringing in £6K per year being curtailed.
The Chairman acknowledged the CO who had faced difficult challenges this year and wished him, his wife Heather, and the children well. The Unit is looking good, and this is down to the CO guiding his team through. He mentioned the efforts of CPO Bagshaw in spending a lot of time carrying out odd
jobs/gardening/maintenance. He also thanks the Parents for joining the meeting and for their continuing support to the Unit.
He advised fund raising challenges were likely to continue for the next 6-9 months and suggested promoting the Unit Lottery and hiring of the Unit to other groups to increase revenue if anyone knows of anyone who might be interested.

7. CO’S REPORT
The CO thanked AB and confirmed that 2021 had been a challenging year personally with is daughter Libby’s Lymphoma diagnosis and considerable amounts of hospital admission and treatment time. The good news is she is currently having all her treatment lines removed and is in remission. She turns 13 at the end of the month and they can finally start to get back to normal life. During this time, he had not been able to as be involved with the Unit as usual but was fully back from this week.
After the last AGM it had been hoped to get back soon to normal activities however then the 2[nd] lockdown occurred. Virtual Training had been exhausted however once restrictions lifted there were plenty of boating opportunities and alternatives to parade nights organised. The staff had been great with the XO, CPO Bagshaw and PO’s McMahon and Evans doing a great job of keeping things running well.
2021 was another year the Unit had been awarded a Burgee which now makes 10 years on the bounce which was very pleasing.
There was a continuing recruitment drive for Cadets as lots of the older ones had left. Marine Cadets had been hit hard with only 2 remaining on the books. There had been lots of new interest with new younger cadets joining and there is to be a further opening evening for potentially 12 more cadets in November.
A new member of staff Sapphire Collett had joined as a direct entry officer and has experience of being an Auxiliary Officer on RFA’s along with also being a teacher who will be a great asset to the staff team.
The CO thanked the Chairman, Treasurer and all UMT for their continuing support and that hopefully we are now onwards and upwards! The Royal Navy inspection is next year and it’s also the 80[th] Anniversary for Kettering Sea Cadets to look forward to.
8. Treasurers Report and Adoption of Accounts
The Chairman introduced the Treasurer MH and again thanked him for his hard work.
