## AGM Chairmans Report 2023 

.The last 12 months have been one of growth following the pandemic 

The Viking bar continues to grow and is the life blood of the hall and will hopefully sustain the .future of the hall for many years to come 

.Rising costs have been a concern, our electric bill alone has basically doubled 

The changing rooms have finally been finished following the move over to 3 phase electric which was required to power the new electric showers. This has taken a considerable amount .of time due to problems with the supplier to the hall, which thankfully is now resolved 

The hall is on a secure financial footing with reserves for a rainy day, should the need arise, that said the next 12 months will present several challenges for the trustees as the roof of the hall requires serious attention. The quotes for this so far are around £35,000 which will have .to be grant funded 

The playing field continues to improve, mainly due to new machinery purchased a few years .ago 

.I would like to place on record my thanks to the trustees for their hard work this last year .My thanks to Steve Grey who stood down earlier this year 

I would like to give special thanks to Tom Laxon who stood down earlier this year as a trustee for all his hard work. Tom worked very hard at running bars and general maintenance, .especially on what is now the cricket pavilion 

After a great deal of consideration I have decided to stand down as Chairman and trustee of the hall. I have always tried to work in the best interests of the hall and estimate that during my time as Chairman I have raised a conservative figure of £80,000 in grants to improve things at the hall. All of this work was completed in my own time usually until late in the .evenings 

That said I have put a great deal of time and effort into running the hall and sacrificed much often at short notice and to the detriment of my family to simply walk away at this time and .will stay with the hall until new trustees are appointed to replace the current team 

I should point out that I have taken advice from Community Action Norfolk regarding the trustees going forward and should there be insufficient volunteers to form a new committee, the current trustees will remain in place, as we have a duty to leave the Charity in a condition where it can continue to run and we could be held liable if we knowingly leave it without a team to do so

I can confirm that the accounts for the treasurers account have been audited
by Graver & Co, Brundall
We started 2022 with a balance of £22,049.17 p and ended the year with
balance of £23,511.78p.
Taking into account our current loan liabilities. we have a reserve of
£16,227.47p.
A complete copy ol the audited accounts will be attached to the minutes of
this meeting and uploaded to the charity commission website.

## REPORT OF THE ACCOUNTANTS TO THE MEMBERS OF 

## SOUTH WALSHAM VILLAGE HALL 

We have reviewed the accounts of the South Walsham Village Hall for the year ended 31st December 2022. Our procedures consisted of comparing the accounts with the accounting records kept by the South Walsham Village Hall, and making such limited enquiries of the Committee as we considered necessary for the purposes of this report.  These procedures provide only the assurance expressed in our opinion. 

In our opinion, taking into account the above note, the accounts prepared, completed on a cash basis, give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the South Walsham Village Hall at 31st December 2022 and of its excess of income over expenditure for the period.
