Many local groups ran residential events which builds resilience and skills and enjoyed lots of exciting activities with Jack Petchey Awards and other funding. In addition, at county level we were fortunate to be able to offer a wide range of additional experiences to our members. Girls participated in the V.E anniversary celebrations taking part in the parade and watching the concert. A group 30 young members and leaders joined YOU London to watch the Trooping the Colour in June. 300 young members accompanied by 60 volunteers participated in May-Hem a region activity day in Sussex joining 8000 members across London & South East England. Four young members were selected to participate in international trips to Japan, Europe and South East Asia. We held a Night Hike for 100 Guides & Rangers (aged 10+) which involved an overnight camp, learning survival skills, navigating around the site and |
completing challenges on the way. 150 Brownies completed up to four interest badges each at a badge day including wayfinder, mechanic, space and animal helper. We were responsible for the Girlguiding float in the Lady Mayors Show, showcasing the interest badges which can be gained including new ones launched by Girlguiding this year.
