|||||||including<br>a Halloween<br>disco,<br>Christmas<br>dinner<br>and<br>bingo||
|||||||event. We have organised<br>a fully subsidised<br>Group<br>bowling||
|||||||event for May 2022 to celebrate<br>the Group's<br>birthday<br>and||
|||||||mark the resumption<br>of normal<br>activities<br>al'ter the pandemic||
|||||||(as planned<br>in the previous<br>financial year).||
|Briefstatement|||ofthe charity's|policy|on|||
|reserves||||||Reserves Policy||
|||||||The<br>Group's<br>policy<br>on<br>reserves<br>is<br>to<br>hold<br>sufficient||
|||||||resources<br>to continue<br>the charitable<br>activities<br>of the group||
|||||||should<br>income and fundraising<br>activities<br>fall short. The need||
|||||||for a reasonably<br>substantial<br>reserve<br>was<br>illustrated<br>during||
|||||||the<br>COVID<br>pandemic.<br>The<br>Group<br>Executive<br>Committee||
|||||||considers that the group should<br>hold the following sums:||
|||||||613,660 for one yeads<br>rent (in light of rent review due this||
|||||||year),<br>utilities<br>(in<br>light<br>of increased<br>gas<br>and<br>electricity||
|||||||charges), garage<br>rent, van expenses<br>and insurance;<br>repairs||
|||||||to the<br>hall<br>held<br>over from<br>2020/21<br>(including<br>new<br>toilet||
|||||||facilities) (f10,000); cost of a D1E driving<br>qualification<br>for J||
|||||||Chiles to allow him to drive the minivan<br>and trailer (f1,500)||
|||||||f2,000 towards<br>purchase<br>of a newer<br>minivan<br>when<br>we||
|||||||consider the current vehicle needs to be replaced,<br>reflecting|i|
|||||||'depreciation<br>in value of current<br>minivan||
|||||||The Group considers<br>it should<br>hold approximately<br>f15,000||
|||||||in general<br>funds<br>to ensure<br>continued<br>operational<br>security.||
|||||||After designated<br>funds<br>and<br>approximately<br>f5,000 in funds||
|||||||collected<br>in 2021/22 for camps being held in 2022/23 and for||
|||||||which<br>expenses<br>have<br>not yet been<br>incurred,<br>reserves<br>of||
|||||||approximately<br>626,715 were<br>held against<br>this at year end.||
|||||||This<br>is above<br>the<br>level<br>required<br>for operating<br>expenses.||
|||||||However<br>this can be explained<br>by the<br>restrictions<br>on the||
|||||||activities<br>it was possible to run during<br>2021/22 and the level||
|||||||of COVID grant support<br>offered by Southwark,<br>which meant||
|||||||our net income was significantly<br>higher and our expenditure||
|||||||lower than<br>it would otherwise<br>have been.||
