## **Type of governing document** 

The Groups governing documents are those of the Scout Association.  They consist of a Royal Charter, which in turn gives authority to the Bye Laws of the Association and the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association. 

## **How the Charity is constituted** 

The Group is a trust established under the Scout Associations rules which are common to all Scouts in the United Kingdom. 

## **Trustee selection methods** 

The Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association. 

## **Risks and Internal Control** 

The Group Executive has in place systems of internal control that are designed to provide reasonable assurance against material mismanagement or loss.  These include two signatories for all payments which are all paid by cheque or direct transfer.  All receipts are banked normally within 7 days of receipt

## **Objects and activities** 

The objects of the Group are as a unit of the Scout Association 

The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as  members of their local, national and international communities.  The method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training based upon the Scout Promise and Law and guided by Adult leadership. 

The Group Scout Council’s role is to offer leadership and support to the  Group Scout Leader. 

The Group meets the Charities Commission public benefit criteria under both the advancement of education and the advancement of citizenship or community development headings.

## **Reserves Report** 

Sufficient reserves are held to continue and develop the activities of the Group and to contribute to request for assistance from the scouting sections. 

The Executive consider that the Group's reserves should be sufficient to enable it to meet its ongoing expenditure.  The Group will monitor its reserves when setting an annual levy or not to ensure that the reserves do not increase unnecessarily. 

## **Investment Policy** 

The Group does not have sufficient funds to invest in long term investments, all funds are held in mainstream banks or societies. 

## **Future Plans** 

Plans for the future are in the Group Development Plan.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the 3 Mitcham Boy Scouts Group (the
Trust) for the year ended 31" December 2020.
Responslblllties and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Att 20111.the AcY}.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trusys accounts carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by
the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examinerf5 Statement
I have completed my examination. I confinn that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect=
l. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust by section 130 of the Act,. or
2. The accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be
