NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS- 31ST MARCH 2024
ACCOUNTING POUCIES
Basls of accounting
These accounts are prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis, in accordance
th the Scout Association information sheet: LT115001 & LT115004
b)
Stocks of badges and consumable items
The costs of these are charged in the peTiod in which the payment was made.
NON-MONETARY ASSETS
The premises are owned by the group. and the deeds are held in trust by the Scout
Association Trust Corporation. who have confirmed that they hold the freehold title deeds to
the premises. The premises (buildings I contents l equipment) are insured by Unity
Insurance Services).
RISKS
The financial risks of the group are that the income from renting the propety drops, for
whatever reason. However we have a long standing arrangement wlth the Montessorl
school which we are confident will continue.
Physical risks would be loss of premises through fire. The property is appropriately insured.
The local District would under such circumstances be able to provide altematsve
accomodation during rebuild.

Independent Examinerfs Report to the Trustses of the
3RD CHISWICK SCOUT GROUP
I report on the accounts of the GrouplDlstrict for the year ended 31st March 2024
which are set out on pages 3 to 8
RespeGtlve responsibilities of trustses and examlner
The Group'slDistrict's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider
that an audit is not required for this year {under Section 43 (2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993
Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It Is my rasponslblllty to:
Examine the accounts (under Section 43 (3) (a) of the 1993 Act):
To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners
(under Section 43 (71 (b) of the 1993 Act). and
. To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Ba81s of Independent examlnorfs report
My examination was carrled out in accordance wtth the General Directions glven by the Charity
Commissioners.
An examination includes a revlew of the accounting records kept by the GrouplDistrict and 8
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees
concernlng any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given
by the accounts.
Independent Exam5nerfs statement
In Connecti(￿ wlth my examlnatlon, no matter has come to my attention:
1. which gives me re8sonabl8 cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements
to keep accounting records in accordance wlth Section 41 of the 1993 Act ;and
to prepare accounts vthich accord with the accountlng records and comply with the accountlng
requirements of th8 1993 Act have not b8en met" or
2. to whith, in my opinion, attention should be dravm in order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.
