Trustees Report 2021

New members have been welcomed in all sections. The group is back to face to face meetings. There are ongoing improvements to the upper floor of the hall and the kitchen. The group are looking for new adult leaders and members of the Executive Committee. All sections are near capacity. There is room to expand but only if there are additional adult leaders

Beavers: Meetings continued via Zoom during Lockdown. Now back face to face. 24 regular attenders. Parents rota for helping at meetings. Attended a virtual camp during the summer. One Beaver has achieved the Chief Scout Bronze Award.

Cubs: Meetings continued via Zoom during Lockdown. Now back face to face. 22 on register. Nearing capacity. Badges had been achieved during the year. During the summer attended an ‘Almost Camp’ held over 3 days.

Scouts: This year the Scouts have gone from strength to strength. Reopened last October with 4 scouts to now when we have 16. Currently only have 3 spaces left. The 1st Crystal Palace were thanked for helping the unit to reopen and giving support until July when more adults joined the team. There has been lots of badgework, this year Scouts have earned 108 badges and so far this term they have earned 28 badges, and are currently doing their master at arms badge which they picked. They are also painting the upper hall to raise money as they would like to do their climbers badge next term. During the year they have had opportunities to do a camp, kayaking, hike and in two weeks are going on a district wide game. 2021 has been a year of challenges but the Scouts have risen to them and are looking strong.
