It has been a very expenses first part of the year, with

we should recover this in December
Hopefully we will be given the opportunity to fund raise later in

Pebbles Squirrels
Wow! What a first year we have had! We have continued to
grow from the first time we opened until now, we have a full
squirrel drey most weeks and we continue to have a waiting list.
I have to welcome Emma on board and the squirresl love her as
she acts like one of them most of the time
We had a great time in September celebrating our 1 st birthday
with a party.
We have been doing lots of badge work and we have had a
number of squirrels achieve their acorn award, their highest
award they can achieve. They have shown a lot of resilience
when we have been doing badge work, they have been making
musical instruments, going to shorne country park learn
tracking, taking part in a mini sports day along with their
parents and we learnt about the local hero in our community.
On Mother’s day we invited all our mums or nans along for a
high tea and craft making flowers, the squirrels served their
mum/nan the cakes while we sorted the tea or coffee and we
have had our dads and grandads in for a father’s day morning,
half of the squirrels were busy making card while the
dad/granddad’s were served tea and coffee along with a
bacon/sausage roll, they then had a pioneering challenge to
work in two teams to build something free standing (they didn’t
do too bad) we finished the session off with one the squirrels
favourite games sharky sharky.
We took 6 squirrels along to panto with the rest of the group
and we took part in the Christmas fun day with the two beaver
sections.
Last but not least I need to thank the people who have
continued to support me each week, so I would like to say a big
thank you to Jane, Debbie, Emma, Annabelle and Hannah and I
would also like to thank Lou and Vicki who come and support
when we are a leader down, in order for us to continue to run
the session. I look forward to seeing what next year brings us!

Rawhide Beavers April 23 to March 24
Oh my goodness we have been so busy, St Georges day parade
is where I will start, moving to Family camp for our Inflatables,
then on to Legoland for a wet, fun day out.
Gilwell Park hosted Fundays where we tried rafting. Fun with
food saw us light fires.

The traditional water fight and Remembrance day lead us to our Activity day sleepover at The Barn. Cheering Snow White and Santa at the Christmas party brought in 2024 During our March Sleepover we used 5 forms of transport including boats and Cable cars. We sadly said goodbye to Evie this year to concentrate on her uni course, Ollie has also joined the world of work My thanks to Chris, Katie and Jo who make up the Leadership Team, not forgetting Issy and Owen our young leaders. Beaver of the Year: Oscar Sue Saxon Beavers This year has been fantastic, I have had a great team behind me and supporting the beaver to achieve lots of badge work. The beavers have been amazing; they have been more willing to have a go at anything we have thrown at them. We have been focusing on completing a lot of badge work such as visiting the fire station, getting to play with the holes, lifting sand filled buckets and even getting to try on their uniform. We made bird feeders, completed our air activity badge by making paper aeroplanes, seeing who could throw them down the other end of the hall, practising our first aid on each other. Even our young leaders took a night doing science experiments which the beavers loved and made them laugh when the mentors didn’t make the coke bubble at first! Every year we host a Father’s Day event where all the dads/uncles or grandads get to come in, put up a tent, have a BBQ and complete a challenge set for them blind folded. We had a great turn out for both Remembrance and St George’s day, they all looked so smart and done everything we could have asked of them. I can say they made all the leaders proud; we had a treat to ninja warriors in July which was brilliant fun had by all! We went on our famous transport sleepover taking 12 beavers up to London by different transport, but we did have a little hiccup with train strikes so had to go by bus rather than train which the beavers loved, we also went on the DLR, Thames Clipper, Cable cars and for the first time we use the Tube on the new Elizabeth line. We held a Christmas party for all of Stone beavers and squirrels to attend and it really well, we done an afternoon full of craft, dancing and even Father Christmas took time out of his busy

schedule to come and visit us. To finish the day off Saxon beavers continued into a sleepover watching a Christmas film and cooking Christmas treats the next day. Lastly, I would love to thank the whole of Saxon team as none of this would be possible without them. Here’s to another great year ahead. BEAVER OF THE YEAR: Finley Thatcher and Georgina Harper Beaver achievement award: Quinn Thomsett Elm Pack AGM 2023/2024 We have had another great year at Elm pack. We currently have 17 cubs on our books but 6 have moving up to scouting in the summer and another 2 at the end of the year We have been doing lots and lots of badge work finding lots of fun & different ways the Cubs can earn their badges often using OSM as an information source, we have awarded 185 badges plus 4 Silver Awards We have also been lucky enough to have Elm represented at the Remembrance Day & St Georges day parades, JOTT and Family camp It’s been great having Jill again helping us out with our finances but she has now passed the finances over and is stepping down as our treasurer, we have 3 very willing young leaders in ,Jack, Zach & amp;Ben. We have had a few guest appearances with Steph , Lucy , Alison helping out when we have been short of Leaders. Terry Canham - Adrian Reeve - CUB OF THE YEAR: Niamh Manning-Macdonald Stone Birch Section Report 2023/24 What a fantastic year we have had: We had 24 Cubs last April. We have been on a few visits this year: Fire Station, Beacon Woods, River Thames walk and our river walk in the Darent River. During our pack meetings we have gained various badges (Local Knowledge, Communicator, Global Issues, Scientist, Cyclist, Navigator, Fire Safety, Artist, Home Help, Home Safety, Athletes and all our Challenge Badges). We have had fun with games nights, conkering, Cub Forums, craft, Halloween Party, Trading Post, Christmas Party, cooking, pancake making, Easter

Egg Hunt, challenges, shooting, archery, Sports Day, celebrated St George’s Day, The King’s Coronation and Remembrance and much more. We did Carol singing at Asda and raised some money for our Section. We went to panto with the whole group. We have been on 5 camps – District Sixers and Seconders camp, Hastings Summer Camp, where we slept in tents and went to Hastings RNLI, swimming and The Rare Breeds Farm. We had a day cooking all our own food on fires. We also did knife craft, archery, tie-dyed t-shirts, had a water Olympics, camp fire, all the usual camp fun and we had a great time. Thriftwood in October, where we did fire lighting, the toboggan run, zipwiring, a 3D maze, visited a country park, had a camp fire. Scout House in January, when we went to London and visited HMS Belfast, then did a sponsored walk zig-zagging the bridges back to Charing Cross, had a professional song writer join us and we made up our own song and had it recorded onto a CD! Natural History Museum sleepover in February where we stayed at Scout House on Friday evening and then packed as little as we could into our rucksacks and headed off to London for a magical night with the dinosaurs! We drew our own dinosaurs on t- shirts, had a torch-lit quiz in with the dinosaurs and had a science talk. We then snuggled up in our sleeping bags and spent the night looking up at the blue whale. 9 Cubs have been awarded with the highest award in Cub Scouting – The Silver Award.

A huge thank you to our Cubs and parents for their commitment to the Pack meetings, camps and supporting our fundraising events and thank you also to Sarah, Jane, Vicki, Richard, Eli & amp; Georgia for their help throughout the year.

Everard Scouts Report Apr 23-Mar 24.

We started April 23 with 16 Scouts. We came back after Easter Holidays straight into St Georges Parade where we had a very good turnout. Straight after that was celebrating the Kings Coronation. We decided to do a lot of Outdoor Activities and Skills ready for our Back-to-Basics camp. This consisted of a Hike, Shorne Country Park, Fire lighting, Knots, Tents, Map Reading and Menu planning. In June we joined together with 1 st Dartford Scouts for our Camp which was a very busy camp doing all the skills they had learned in meetings before hand. We finished off the Summer with our annual River Walk at Westminster fields which is always a very popular night. September, we concentrated on more badgework indoors. We covered Communicator, Fire safety and Swimming. October, we

decided to join in and do Homeless camp where they built shelters out of cardboard and slept the night in them. We joined 1 st Dartford Scouts again for this camp and added in a trip to Chatham Dockyard which was a great experience. We had a good turnout for both Remembrance Parades in Dartford and Stone. This meant that the Scouts were treated to a night out Bowling and PIZZA! Nearer Christmas we did our Christmas crafts and PANTO! January 24, we came back to Achieving a lot of challenging Badges. We started with Personal Challenge, Circus Skills and Hobbies Badges which must be done over quite a few weeks. We fitted in Burns Night, Chinese New Year, St Davids, Mother’s Day and St Patricks. This year has been aimed at achieving a lot more badges which the Scouts love achieving and to show them off on their uniforms. We gave out 3 Gold Awards to Ben Leggatt, Alexandra Hinz and Hollie Jones. Congratulations to them all as this is a really hard award to achieve in Scouts. Within this year we welcomed back Charlie to Everard as Chris had to step back because of work. Jane also supported us every week to date which is very appreciated. Thank you to all the Everard Leaders for keeping Everard running every week and giving the Scouts memories and Life Skills that they will never forget. Thankyou also to the parents for trusting us with their little angels every week and on camps. Without their dedication every week we would not be the Everard we are today. Here’s to an even better fun filled year next year!!

Wise Scouts

Another busy year for Wise Troop since the last AGM. The troop has been going through some changes over the last year we have had a rise in numbers and lost a few older Scouts to Explorers.

We have been trying some new programmes and bringing back some old favourites.

On behalf of all the Leaders and Scouts we would like to say thank you to all the parents for their ongoing support, on a personal note I would like to say thank you to all the Scouts For their ongoing commitment to the Troop. Lastly I would like to

say a THANK YOU to Jill Pritchard for doing Wise’s accounts. A special thanks to Matthew Grimwood, Katt Farrar, Louise Jenkins, Nicole Grimwood and Jake Brunsdon, Luke Brooks, Jasmin Cribb, CJ Mackney, Charlie Burns, Alfie Ellison and Vicki Mackney for all their support to help run the troop on Friday nights and a thank you to Jane Ball for her support. Neil Brunsdon SCOUT OF THE YEAR: Kira Brunsdon and Lucy Walkling Neil presented flowers to Jill Pritchard for all the help she has given him for many years with the Troop and accounts. Livingstone Report 2024 Firstly, apologies from me (Matthew) as I am unable to be here this evening. Numbers: 22 Members (around 5-6 to be invested) Activities over the year: Our Team for winter survival came 4th overall which is a huge congratulations to them. We are aiming to enter again this year and hoping to beat that again! We have had a programme over the year very much focused more on badge work and attaining platinum awards. We are hopeful to go on camp in September with a winter camp to follow in the near future. We also are booked in and ready for KIJ 2025 summer camp with a healthy number of kids signed up We have grown to a very healthy number which is amazing, and we look forward to another riveting programme for the next year incorporating badge work, camps, hikes and more evening/days out for the young people. Platinum Awards: We are very proud to announce that we have had 3 members receive their platinum awards. These are Zach Leggatt, CJ Mackney and Robin Ancill. Well done to all three. We have a lot of members working towards theirs currently and we will continue to support them with this as much as possible. Leadership: Sadly, as members of the group are aware, we have lost Harrison as a leader within scouting for the time being, we wish him luck in whatever he goes on to do. Livingstone has potentially gained a new leader now with Luke deciding to join us (temporarily to get a feel first) as a uniformed leader. We welcome Luke and look forward to

what we know they will bring to the table in terms of leadership
and scouting.
Explorer of the year:
For this year, the explorer winning this will be Georgia White
(Trophy/Shield will be given out in due course). Georgia has
shown great leadership, stepping up and being a role model to
new members as well as existing. Always bright, cheerful and
willing to give anything a go, showing an attitude that aligns
with what Scouting is all about. Well done Georgia!
