**Pebbles Squirrels**
On Saturday 10thSeptember 2022 Stone scout group
opened the 2ndSquirrel section in Dartford District and
what 10 months it has been! In September we started
running two weeks of the same programme due to a
big uptake of Squirrels but found this quite hard. So,
after October half term we thought let do it and
change to weekly but go slightly over the number
recommend to us, (only by 3) but we now have 24
amazing Squirrels who are truly fantastic. They try
everything we have thrown at them. We have
achieved many badges since opening such as feeling
good, first aid, hikes, creative, one of my favourite
badges we have done is learning all about them and
what they wanted to be when they are older
**Leader for Rawhide**
We open the year with a sleepover planed for in tents but
moved inside due to snow!
Family camp gave us plenty of laughs and was followed by
a district trip to Leeds Castle, and JOTT.
We held a summer camp at Buckmore where the highlight
was caving.
In September we had Katie go on maternity leave,
Rawhide was lucky to have Jo join us on the leadership
team. We also took on another young leader, Issy
For the Autumn term we had a sleepover with a visit to
Chatham dock yard, Halloween party, remembrance
parade, first aid, and panto.
2023 saw us booking Lego land, Fundays.
We’ve enjoyed Rawhides Got Talent and a sleepover to
Greenwich. Over the year we gave out 195 badges, with 5
Bronze Awards.||
With exam season now finished, I look forward to seeing our young leaders, Ollie and Issy, back on the team. I would like to welcome Baby Hunter and congratulate Katie. My thanks, to Chris, my right-hand man, and to Jo, who has moved seamlessly from maternity cover to uni exams cover. Beaver of the Year was announced at our evening meeting. **Leader for Saxon** In September I stepped up as Beaver leader due to Nicole having to step down to be able to take on the Squirrel Leader role. Since then we have worked as a great team, welcoming our Assistant Leader Carina back into scouting, getting Jane back and having the support of our two young leaders Jo and Josh to run the weekly sessions. Saxon has had a great year; the children have been amazing as they have been more than willing to have a go at anything we have thrown at them. We have been focusing on completing a lot of badge work such as bug hotels, photography, planting, first aid. We also had an amazing visit to the Temple in Gravesend where we got a guided tour and even tried some food, everyone loved it even the parents that got to stay. Every year we host a Mother’s Day session this year the mums/nans/aunties were able to come along and enjoy afternoon tea with a bit of craft. We had a great turn out for both Remembrance and St George’s day, they all looked so smart and done everything we could have asked of them. I can say they did all the leaders proud; we are looking forward to taking them to Ninja Warrior in July as a treat. Lastly, I would love to thank the whole of Saxon team as none of this would be possible without them. Here’s to another great year ahead **Leader Birch** We have 28 Cubs at the moment. We have been on a few visits this year: Bluewater, Beacon Woods, panto and our river walk **in** the Darent River.
During our pack meetings we have gained various badges (Road Safety, book reader, sports enthusiast, collectors, hobbies, physical recreation, emergency aid and all our Challenge Badges). We have had fun with games nights, bring a buddy night, conkering, Cub Forums, craft, Halloween Party, problem solving, Christmas Party, cooking, pancake making, Easter Egg Hunt, challenges, shooting, archery, Sports Day, celebrated St George’s Day, the Queen’s Jubilee and Remembrance and much more. A huge thank you to our Cubs and parents for their commitment to the Pack meetings, camps and supporting our fundraising events and thank you also to Sarah, Jane, Emma, Steve, Vicki, Richard, CJ, Eli & Georgia for their help throughout the year. 7 Cubs have been awarded with the highest award in Cub Scouting – The Silver Award. **Elm Leaders** We have had another great year at Elm pack. We currently have 22 cubs on our books but 3 will be moving up to scouting in the summer and another 4 at the end of the year. We have been doing lots and lots of badge work from 1[st] aid to pioneering finding lots of fun & different ways the Cubs can earn their badges. We have so far awarded 153 badges plus 3 Silver Awards We have also been lucky enough to have Elm represented at the Remembrance Day & St Georges day parades, JOTT and not forgetting a fantastic Family camp. It’s been great having Charlie Ball as our AGSL and Jill again helping us out with our finances, and we have 4 very willing young leaders in Alison, Jack, Alfie & Zach. Sadly we are losing Alison who is off to Uni in Portsmouth in September. **Everard Scouts** We have had another great year at Elm pack. We currently have 22 cubs on our books but 3 will be moving up to
scouting in the summer and another 4 at the end of the year. We have been doing lots and lots of badge work from 1[st] aid to pioneering finding lots of fun & different ways the Cubs can earn their badges. We had a back-to-basics camp in June and off to Bournemouth this summer. We have been trying some new programmes and bringing back some old favourites. We had 3 Scouts gain their Chief Scouts Gold Award, the highest award a Scout can gain in the Scout section well done to Kira Brunsdon, Joshua Healey and Owen Sutton. On behalf of all the Leaders and Scouts we would like to say thank you to all the parents for their ongoing support, on a personal note I would like to say thank you to all the Scouts for their ongoing commitment to the Troop. Lastly I would like to say a THANK YOU to Jill Pritchard and the young leaders (Jake Brunsdon, Luke Brooks, CJ Mackney, Charlie Burns and Alfie Ellison) because without them the
||Troop would not function. A special thanks to Matthew
Grimwood, Ricky Jones, Katt Farrar, Louise Jenkins and
Nicole Grimwood for all their support to help run the troop
on Friday nights.||

I report on the accounts of the Group for the year ended 31st March 2022 which are set out on pages ........................2 - 4
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The Group's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 (Act);
To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under Section145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and
To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of Independent examiner's report**
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Group and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below
## **Independent Examiner's statement**
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 130 of the 2011 Act and
- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act and the Regulations
have not been met; or
2. To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached,
