Risk and Internal Control
The Group Trustee Board has idonlified the major risks lo
which they believe the Group is exposed, these have been
reviewed and systems hav8 been established lo miligale
againgt them. The main areas of concern that hava been
identified are..
Damage lo the building, property a￿1 equipment. The Group
would request the use of bulldings, property and equipment
from neighbourlng organisalions such as the church,
community cenl¥e and olher Scoul Groups. Similar
reclprocal arrangements exist with these orgarTrisaliony. The
Group has sufficient txJildings and ¢onlenls insurance in
place lo mitigate against permanonl loss.
Injury to leaders, helpers, supporters and members. The
Group through the eapitalion fees contributes lo the Scout
S50ciations national accident insurance policy. Risk
ssessmen18 are undertaken before all activities.
Reduc•d incom& from fund Taising. The Group is primarily
reliant upon income from subscripttons and fundraising. The
group does hold a reserve lo ensure Ihe conlinuily of
activities should there be a major ieduclion in income. The
Board could raise the value of sijbscriplions lo increase the
income to the group on an ongoing basis, either tempotarily
or pem7anenlly.
Reduction or loss of leaders. The group18 totally reliant
upon volunteeTS lo run and administer the activities of the
group. If there was a Teduclion in th6 numbei of leader5 to
an unacceptable level in a particular section or the group as
a whol& Ih8n th6r@ would have to be a conlraclion,
consolidation or closure of a section. In the WOTSt case
scenario the cc¥nplete closure of the Group.
Reduction or loss of members. The Group provides
activities for all young people aged 4 to 18. If there was a
reduction in membership In a partlcular sèction or the group
ag whfAe then there would have lo be a contraclion,
consolidation or closure of a section. In the worst case
scenario the complele closure of the Group.
Risk and Internal Control
The group has in plaGe systems of inlemal controls that are
designed lo provide reasonable assurance against ma18rial
mismanagement or loss, these include 2 signatories for all
payments and a comprehensive insurance policies to
ensure that insurable risks are rywered.

Re8erves Pollcy
The Groupb policy on reserves Is to hold sufficient
resources lo continue the chafilable ￿tIVitIeS of the group
should income and fLFndraising aclivllles fall short. The
Group Trustee Board considers that the group should hold a

Quantify and explain any designation8
The Group held reserves of approximately £8222.38 against
this at year end. This is above the level required far
operating expenses. However this can be explained by
oulslandirg camp payments not having yel been cashed
along with delayed payment81slaged pgymenls for
apilation.
Delall8 of any funds materially in deficlt
(elrcumslances plus steps to elirninalel
A deficit of -£860.90 across the year 24-25 is being
