5th Dartford has already spent in excess of £10,000 on work for the new hall, including ground surveys. As costs have continued to escalate, the subs payments have increased from £12-£16 and they will be increased again to £20 in April 2025. If any members are struggling with the increased cost of living and have concerns KH encouraged them to speak to the Scout Leader. There will be an ongoing focus upon fundraising and 5th Scouts hope to sign up for Gift Aid as soon as possible.

## District Lead Volunteer – Neil Gearing

NG referred to the wealth of opportunities provided by 5th Dartford Scout Group and thanked all the volunteers who have made this possible. He also thanked the young people who are central to group and requested that they look at the Scout website and contribute their ideas for activities for the next camp. NG reported that 5th Dartford can repeat Award 50 next year and confirmed that there would be no additional charge from the district. NG also thanked the trustee board, JK and AL for their ongoing support.

## Leader of Council – Jeremy Kite

He thanked all involved at 5th Dartford.

## – Mayor of Dartford Andy Lloyd

AL shared his own experience of scouting as a young person and how the opportunities that this provided continues to benefit him even now! He is proud to be an ex-scout and wants to use his year as Mayor to promote and support the scouting movement.
