LennSe Oakley Approval of Mlnutes Minutes of the 2021- 2022 AGM were approved. proposed by Elalne Oakley and Seconded by Katle Potts Trustees Annual Report 2021-2022 The Scout Associatlon announced several chan8è5 to be introduced in 2023. Our Dlstrbrt Commlssloner (DC), Andy Trill, has prepared the way for these. We have seen the Introductlon of the youngest section, Squirrels, for four- and five-year•olds, and we look forward to seeing how this develops and spreads throu8hout the Distrlct. Wlthin the Dlstrict Executfve Committee (DEC), the Association has decided to do away wlth the Distrlct Appolntments Advlsory Commlttee (DAAC). a sub-committee of the DEC, and adopt a new model for the appointment and review of leaders. The Trustees have expressed some concern about thls, but tome woll tell. Our DAAC has done an outstanding Job over the past few years, and we are most gratefvl to the members of the committee for the conscientious way they have tackled and eradlcated what was a sl8nlflcant backlo8. We are now fully up-to-date and ready for the transition to the new system. Every year, the Scout Actlve Support Unlt (SASU) essentialty acts as the service team at Ross Wood and has undertaken many Improvements. Kent Wlldlife Trusrs recent introduction of Bison to the west of the slte led to considerable concern about our western boundary but our DC ne8Otiated a satisfartory outcome. We lost relatively small area of Woodlar that we had fenced, "owned" (or thou8ht we dld) and cad for over the past 70 years, but the outcome is perhaps not as bad as It could have been. Fortunately, the boundary changes will not affect most of our artlvlty basès althou8h some changes will be necessary and once a8aSn it will be the service team who have to make the adjustments. The Trustees have always appreciated the effort put in by the members of the seNice team and have some sympathy for the additional work required followln8 the changes. Importantly, however, Ross Wood continues to be a valuable camp site enjoyed by many and It continues to offer young people an opportun5ty to experlence good campin8 and an expandin8 ran8e of artivltles. We are indebted to members of the service team for all their hard work. Dlstrkt Treasurerfs Report 2021-2022 OveThlew. The Distrlct has maintained its capftal Investment position and continued to support the malntenance and development of the Ross Wood Campsite and other Scoutin8 actlvities upon request. Investm•nts and R•Mrv•s. The Dlstrict retalns Its substantlal level of reserves held in investment accounts but most interest rates remain low. We chose to invest in M & G which has proved to be a bl8 Source of Income over the four past years. We also continue to allow for the creation of a development strategy into sustainable Scouting actNities and benefits. Independent Examlnatlon. The DEC remained with our Independent examlner Jane Neame. The committee believe it is important to review the choice of examiner regularly to ensure an unbiased examination ts completed but felt that Jane has provided us with an excellent service over the past couple of years.
