ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31st MARCH 2024

Redbridge Social Centre is conistituted by a Deed of Trust dated 2[nd] February 1962 and is a Registered Charity. It was established in 1944 to provide social recreational and leisure time activities for the residents of Redbridge and other local areas. The centre is run on a voluntary basis and at March 2024 had 299 members.

The Members of the Management Committee during the previous year were Joan Dalby (Acting Chair Lady), Julian Buckle (Treasurer),Christine Gwilliam

(Secretary) Tony Church, Arthur Pearn, Sandra Phillips, Glynys Tidderman, and Carole Vallance. Tony Herbert is the current President. Two new Members were co-opted in September 2023,Madan Mitra and Paul Kitcher both from the War Games Section.

Sadly Arthur Pearn (Committee and Short Mat Bowls) died in December 2023 and Jack Richards (Short Mat Bowls) died in January 2024.

There are still 13 different regular Activities available at the Centre, together with occasional use by the Drama Group for rehearsals.

The September MacMillan Coffee Morning rasied £1,208.00p and in October Charity Quiz made £602.00p for Blood Cancer UK.

A new roof was fitted to the Conservatory in May 2023, followed by paintwork and new blinds to complete the upgrade.

The Management Committee held several meetings during the year to discuss day to day Activities and general maintenance issues.

The accompanying Financial Statement shows the continued strong postion of the Centre finances,which the Management Committee considers capable of sustaining us for a long period of time.
