The Freehold of the premises was conveyed to Kemsing Parish Council on 2[nd] June 1924 , by Sir Mark Edlemann Collet of St Clere, Kemsing, and the day to day management of the premises vested in a Committee whose members are appointed at the Annual Meeting of Kemsing Parish Council in May. Officers are elected from the membership of the Management Committee.

The Grade II listed building comprises original 1911 Main Hall, Clubroom (extended in 1967 and 1978) and Caretaker’s house, with a Small Hall built in 1976.

The Charity was established in 1962 with the Conveyance of the Freehold of the premises to Kemsing Parish Council as the Governing Document.

Objects

To enhance the community life of the inhabitants of Kemsing through the provision of a Village Hall.

The St Edith Hall is available for hire by any individual or organisation in accordance with a Conditions of Hire and scale of charges adopted for the year. It is intended that the charges be sufficient to generate income to meet all expenditure incurred in keeping the facilities available for hire.

Finances

The attached statement shows the current state of the finances. Kemsing Parish Council considers annually, any application by the Management Committee for Grant Aid towards the cost of structural works, building insurance and heating. Our income is still suffering somewhat from Covid restrictions.
